Members having differing opinions… What is this, some type of forum?!

I hope it will come with the parts to build the “normal” version as well. My fiancé had the show on box set and thought it was hilarious that it was made into a scale kit.

Hey @SteveG, I sent Round2 an email concerning this a couple months ago but didn’t get a response, I was curious as to the status of the tooling for the MPC 1932 Chevrolet Confederate cabriolet.

Poor guys. You’d think people would have the common sense not to spectate out in the street. Oh well, we live in a world that has to put “DO NOT EAT” labels on shampoo bottles.

I threw away my gunked up can of rustoleum red gloss enamel yesterday after work and bought some dupli color paints, primer, sealer, and filler. So far I have no regrets.

Would be nice to have to use in a '90s AMT F150..
I agree, I’ve been converting one into an XL.

VCG Resins makes a stock 240/300..
Thanks, but that’s an older version of the 300, I’m after the fuel-injected final iteration of the 300. It looks like this:

Dan already got to it but yeah, those early nineties AMT/ERTL boxes were something else. How could a company be so bold and daring? That controversial and wild font they placed on every box, that crazy gray background… it’s a wonder they didn’t sprout wings and fly off the shelves themselves.

I can be more immature than the both of you. That keyboard battle was getting intense!

I’ve been doing some research into it, and the only one I’ve seen done was by Ken at Kitchen Table Resins, but it appears that business shuttered. Does anyone know if there is another resin 4.9 I6 being done or even just the intake manifold? That funky intake has been the only real hang up for me so far in trying to make my own.

One thing I've wondered about the MPC front suspension: is there not supposed to be some sort of shaft between the pumpkin side and the non-pumpkin side?
Yes, the shaft connects from the front differential to the wheel opposite of the side with the diff., but it’s mostly concealed within the suspension arms on the real thing.

No pitcher showing from here.
Is it showing a white screen with a play button in the middle on your end, Bill? It did that on mine but if you click it the video pops up.

Sweet paint job. Good on you for doing a sportside pickup. Do you plan on using the kit engine and drivetrain?
-
It would need to include more than one engine IMO.
For example, maybe Round2 could do a parts pack for the new Chevy C3500 dually kit that would include a 454 engine, a 6.5L turbo diesel engine, canopy top, gooseneck hitch, cab visor, stirrup steps, etc.
The Craftsman ‘65 GTO parts kit could include a Tri-Power 389, custom 455 big block, mag wheels, drag radials, interior roll bar, skinny front tires, and a drag chute.

My ‘80 F-150 has the 351M with original valve covers, I’d say it looks like MPC didn’t know what the production engine would look like when the tooling was cut. The twin-I-beam looks fair to me, and I can tell that the transmission is supposed to be a C6. The transfer case on this year Ford should be a New Process unit.

But, it has engine options that the AMT kit does not
I haven’t bought this kit before, is the engine supposed to represent a 302 or a 351M?
Another thing I notice that would help this kit in the looks department is to use the western swing mirrors that come in the Moebius Ford kits, those are better proportioned IMO.

I doubt if many prospective new car shoppers that would be looking at the new Hornet would be aware of the AMC Hornet, let alone the Hudson Hornet..long time ago..
Of course not, something tells me that most perspective shoppers for this thing will be better equipped to tell you how to make a boba tea drink than care to know the history behind the nameplate.
It might as well say Maytag on the grille, because it’s just a modern-day rolling appliance. There will be a large contingent of Hornet drivers that won’t even bother checking fluids.

The Hudson Hornet is rolling in its step-down grave right now.

What did the other car look like?
Before the wreck, probably neglected and unwashed, trash strewn across the dash. One of those folks you see on the road who make you wonder if the DMV gave them a license out of pity.
It's not Coke !
