  1. As long as I am a paying customer, I will either praise or complain about the product/service as the situation dictates. In my particular circumstance, eight months of excuses is seven months too many. The decision to cancel any outstanding order was already made by HRM in not being able to fill it in anything remotely resembling a timely manner. Mr. Bradford's products are good, just not good enough to wait this long. That goes for anything for sale by anyone. I got by in the past without HRM products, I'll do the same now. If, as you pointed out, he has too much on his plate, deciding what his business priorities are would be beneficial to him and his customers in the long term. :)

That is, of course, your call. You cancelled the order, correct? You got a refund, correct? If both of those are true, let it go; the stress will kill you.

  2. I mentioned yesterday that we rescued a cat from the SPCA. In case anyone was wondering, here's Pierre, posing with Mrs. Corvair Jim (my beautiful Rose, someone that I'm thankful for EVERY day!) last night - I hadn't been able to upload the pic to Photobucket when I made the post:

(Sorry about the lousy cell phone pic - She wanted to text the photo to our daughter right away!)

    Aw ... he's a cutie!

  3. Maybe the twelfth ball was earmarked for the kickers...it might be tougher to kick an underinflated ball, at least for distance.

The persistent stench of cheating puts an asterisk next to anything they have accomplished. Not that I care too much...haven't watched the "big game" in over twenty years. The playoffs up to this point are where the better games are anyway...

20 years? Man, think of the great commercials you've missed!

  4. I don't think I mentioned anything about disabilities. morbid obesity (I believe considered at 20# over target weight) is something which is preventable. it's quite often brought on one Snickers at a time. then the additional weight affects joints, stamina, and other abilities, which snowball and then we have type 2 diabetes. can't see it on the outside, but it's there. the "I can't help myself" argument doesn't hold water; usually it's a choice matter.

glad I forgot to mention those who buy lottery tickets - instead of toothpaste.

'Tis a pity we can't all be as close to perfect as thou art.

Just sayin' ... first stones and all that.

  5. Are XMODS and XS wheels the same thing? I thought they were different. Just wondering...

They are different. XS Tuning wheels and tires are just that, wheels and tires aimed at the tuner crowd. XMODS are 1/28 ish RC Cars. Used to be available thru Radio Shack (that's where I got mine, a 1967 Camaro).

  6. You are correct, and I also mentioned split or offset crankpins in my post. The 60 degree (or multiples thereof) V-angle between banks is still the preferred layout. All you have to do is look at the beautiful symmetry of the Lambo crank, and you know why.

Split crankpins and "ignoring minor vibrations" just aren't parts of my particular definition of good engineering.

    Your opinion may differ. B)

To build on what you've said, Bill, in my opinion there are no "minor vibrations" in high performance engines. Odd vibrations are an engine's way of telling you it is slowly (or not so slowly) killing itself.

Now, the beauty is that in the model car world, none of these inconvenient realities matter. Our "Hot Rod Shops" have unlimited budget and the best talent that unlimited budget can buy. They can accomplish anything we can imagine.

  7. Chinese officials confiscated tools and stock of company that built them. Both companies SOL.

And yet we think it's a great idea to have them do all the manufacturing; to send them all the tooling and intellectual properties associated with.

  8. Alas, even more expensive restaurants are prone to issues. Went to a nice restaurant for dinner Friday night (local place that's about $50 each with wine)...appetiZers came out after entrees, one entree was undercooked/raw, etc. frustrating....

So ... you did have a polite, cordial conversation with the manager, yes? I certainly would have and I tend to go to the "$50 dinner-for-four" restaurants.
