Thanks, guys - I just realized that I didn't push the hood down when I took the pics - duh. Oh, well

    Petty Pontiac
This is the Monogram STP Curb Racing Pontiac from 1984. I didn't do anything special with this at all. I was kinda in a slump so I did this to get off my arse and do something. The tires had melted parts of the body including the A-pillars, as well as parts of the windshield and rear window, so I did a little bit of patching and made do. I used the kit decals, but I figured the color would bleed through pretty badly, so I made copies and laid down white decal paper first. This definitely helped most of the decals not to bleed through as they would have otherwise, though I forgot to do this for the passenger side numbers. Anyway, on to the pics.

I'm sorry, but I've not opened mine yet so I have no idea what it's really like. Maybe someone else can chime in if they know.

Nope - this was made from the stock AMT Galaxie kit. I did pick up the Lorenzen kit after I built this.

It's not an aftermarket grill at all (I'm poor with six kids and can't afford aftermarket anything). I don't remember the specifics of this build, but I usually use a scribing tool, thin file, or sandpaper

Thanks, guys - yeah, you're right, Danno!

    Aston Martin DB4
Here's the Revell reissue of the Aurora Aston Martin DB4. The clear plastic parts were a bit messed up and would not fit. I had to use clear glue to fill the gaps between where the windows ended and where the window frames began. The glass was also cracked in a few spots and was generally not in good shape. It took a bit of work, but it all finally came together. I added flocking for the carpeting in the interior cabin and in the trunk. I also stripped the chrome (since it was not in good shape) and I sprayed the chrome pieces with Alclad. I hope you like it

    Also, the trunk opens

    Shelby
This is the AMT King Cobra kit. I based this build not on any particular car, but just on an idea. I knew a few guys back in the 80s that loved to cruise. They (alright, me too) would run slicks when able to, and they would do what they could to hop things up, but they kept the cars street legal. That's how I decided to build this kit.

I mounted a spare tire in the trunk

    Jaguar XK SS
This is the Revell Germany release of this kit. I modeled it after my Uncle Al's car. I had planned on doing a few things to it, but the kit is not simple and I ended up happy just to have completed it. At the end, few parts would fit properly without adjustments/drilling/trimming/cutting of some sort. It is mostly box stock with flocking and Alclad being the only "adjustments" I made to the kit.

    Fireball's '64 Galaxie
I built this car from the AMT '64 Galaxie kit. I used a Modelhaus interior, dash, and seat with homemade decals for the dashboard. I scratched up the rollcage with styrene rod. I used brass tubing for the exhaust. The wheels and tires are homemade resin pieces. The decals are from Fred Cady. The hood and trunk pins are needles and wire with sequins for the plates. I used Alclad on the bumpers and grill. The paint is a custom mix using Creatix paints.

    Fireball Roberts '63 Galaxie
This started life as the AMT '63 Galaxie customizing kit. I cut out the rear seat and console and used sheet styrene to make it an empty interior. I cut out the radio and extras from the dash, made a gauge panel and homemade decals for the dashboard. I scratched up the rollcage with styrene rod. The seat is from Modelhaus. I used brass tubing for the exhaust. The wheels and tires are homemade resin pieces. The decals were from Slot Car Fever. The hood and trunk pins are needles and wire with sequins for the plates. I used Alclad on the bumpers and grill. It's not modeled after any specific race, but is just an interpretation of how the car might have looked at some point that year.

I did nothing special under the hood - it's just stock
