krishna.iskandana Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Hi again, I saw a cool picture of a '67 el camino on the internet some times ago, and I thought it would be cool to build a kit like the picture I saw. However, the 67 el camino kit was really hard to find ( if they made any ), so I turned to the next best thing,I bought a revell's 66 el camino from a local hobbystore. The paint is the combination of black and metallic red from tamiya. I lowerd the ride heights, changed the wheel with a set of wheels from hoppin' hydros (20" monster tora rims if I'm not mistaken) and wired the engine. Well, here it is .... The Inspiration The Model Let me know what you think and thanks for looking. Krishna Iskandana Perth, WA
Jordan White Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 That looks awesome! If I recall correctly, that's a Chip Foose designed El Camino.
BigBeze Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 That Camino is super clean! How do you do your paint? Air brush or can?
Dan Rosenello Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 It is possible to build a '67 El Camino , but you need to cut & glue a '67 Chevelle nose & taillights to the '66 El Camino. Nice build by the way.
krishna.iskandana Posted March 5, 2010 Author Posted March 5, 2010 That Camino is super clean! How do you do your paint? Air brush or can? Hi, thanks for all the comments. Actually, I'm an old school modeler who doesn't even know how to use air brush ( at least not yet ), so all the completed builts which I have posted in this forum were spray painted from tamiya color cans. cheers
Mooneyzs Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 (edited) Very Nice Build. That thing turned out great. I love it and I really like the rims you used on this. YJIslander.... you are correct that this El Camino is a Chip Foose Design. This El Camino is featured in some of the Mothers Polish commercials. Edited March 5, 2010 by Mooneyzs
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Very clean and nice. This one earns the MPC Motorsports seal of approval!
