Lownslow Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 anyone have any tips i noticed it turns into fuzzy fur on the body. im using testors acryil cadium yellow thinned 50/50 with 91% spraying with about 15psi.
Ken#5fan Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I have a friend who mixed his acrylic at the ratio of 1/2 paint, 1/4 70% alcohol, and 1/4 Future floor wax. He told me he laid down a few thin coats about three or four days apart then laid on a heavy coat, then went back a week later and added a final coat. He then polished it out and the results were great.
MikeMc Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Fuzzy fur is too far away, or the 91% is causing it to dry too quick, or both. Only luck I've had AB acrylics is with Tamiya or polly scale thinners. Others use 70%, 91%, or windshield washer fluid. Never worked for me..But I prefer lacquers
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I wholeheartedly recommend thinning Acryl with Testors acrylic thinner only. It works the best IMHO.
