Raskoraz
I Picked up this kit because I am a big fan of muscle cars. I've almost completed the engine. I'm happy with everything so far except the colour of the intake manifold. I thought it would look better. Anyway here's where I am.
jahmaljasson
Great detail on the engine. Can't wait to see more, keep on building!
freakshow12
What are those yellow things?
Patrick2005
Seeing as they go from valve cover to valve cover I'm assuming they are some type of breather. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Raskoraz
Pretty much. I've never went this in depth. I'm using 18 gauge wire. So it's not as flexible. Edited May 2, 2013 by Raskoraz
Guest
I would drop the yellow wires, and add in scale ignition wires.

JasonC
Interesting... May want to recheck your belt/pulley assembly though.
Raskoraz
I'm missing the smog pump.
outragis
Interesting... May want to recheck your belt/pulley assembly though. Yea, i would think that would not work that well...
Raskoraz
The clutch that holds the fan is too long. I did not bother to cut it, as I had already glued everything.
JasonC
It's misaligned is what we are saying. The fan should be inline with the water pump.

Guest
Why? Because that yellow wire does not look like anything I have seen on a real car, and is the same scale as scale radiator hose!
Raskoraz
You're telling me you have never seen yellow wires on a car? http://www.brdracing.com/toyota_3tc_2tc_ignition.htm Edited May 3, 2013 by Raskoraz
JasonC
You're telling me you have never seen yellow wires on a car? http://www.brdracing.com/toyota_3tc_2tc_ignition.htm So what you put on the model, are they suppose to be plug wires or breather tubes? Guest
You're telling me you have never seen yellow wires on a car? http://www.brdracing.com/toyota_3tc_2tc_ignition.htm No, I am saying your wires make no sense, they are radiator hose sized. The pic in your link is a 4 cylinder, so it is wrong for the v8 in your model. Your wires make no sense. Get yellow scale ignition wires, and you will be good. Dragfreak
this is a 427 like whats in your model and the small black wires heading down between the exhaust is the ignition wires that you were trying to replicate. The wires go from the distributer which is the small round thing on the back of the intake manifold to the heads. In this picture you can see where the spark plug wires go to the heads Hope this helps dragfreak Edited May 4, 2013 by Dragfreak
Raskoraz
Those are the only wires I have available. I'm using what resources I have.
Guest
My suggestion stands, I would remove them as there is nothing realistic about them. Edited May 4, 2013 by midnightprowler
Raskoraz
Thanks drag freak for the detailed photos. I just finished building the 426 hemi 1/6 by Revell. I have a pretty good idea of what goes where now..
Dragfreak
Your welcome Patrick, I would also recommend going on Google images and looking up the engine that you're building when you're looking to add those extra details to your model so you can be as accurate as possible and have a great looking finished product. Wonderbread Kustomz
I agree the yellow wire needs to go... I try to save money whenever I can, so I find using the colored craft wire works for plug wires...
jaydar
Dragfreak, Thanjs for the pix. I have a 427 Nova planned soon. One of of my best friends had one. Joe.
