Ace-Garageguy Posted June 21, 2013 Share Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) In general, balsa is usually too coarse-grained to look really right if presented as wood in most scales. Birch, poplar, walnut and other very fine-grained woods, which are the basis of the plywoods that Joe Smythe (southpier) refers to are much better.
