kilrathy10
You got some great pics, Hakan.....I've seen that chrome windshield surround on a truck out here and I was instantly inspired.....Gonna have to make one for something....And that white 389.....Just Gorgeous....Why can't somebody kit that thing???!!!!??? Nice find, Mark.....Those sleepers are amazing......I guess you can get whatever you want in one of those....He must have opted out of the washer/dryer stack.... And that is literally being put out to pasture.....Those old Dodges look like something out of the "Cars" world.....Let's go tip some tractors.... Petetrucker07
Ive actually driven through the towns in Az they took the names from, Peach Springs Az. The hills do actually resemble the hoods and fenders of cars. I have to dig up the pics. I was going west on the 40 from Flagstaff to Kingman. I had to load at a rock quarry off Rte 66, so i took the scenic route. It was cool to see all that stuff they took and put in the movie, well altered and drew into the movie. Force
I have driven Route 66 from Topock via Oatman and Kingman, to Seligman and boy was that cool, lots to see...but after Hackberry it got too dark to see much so when we came to Seligman we continued on the I40 to Flagstaff, the day after we took the I 17 down to Phoenix, unfortunatley it was too dark when we left Flagstaff in the early morning so we didn't take the route through Sedona...well maybe next time. Here are some more cool trucks seen under a couple of my other trips to your country. We'll start with these taken back in 2006 and a Kenworth W 900L I saw near Venice Beach CA outside a car dealer. Another truck, a Ford F650 shot on a parking lot near Venice Beach CA. Now we skip ahead 3 years and land in the year 2009 and a couple of trucks at a friends property in Hesperia CA (your hometown Clayton). . Two Peterbilt's...the black 379 he had just sold when I took the pictures and the green 359 is most likely still there...he has had that one as long as I've known him...wich is about 16 years. He also had a 63 inch Peterbilt flat top sleeper when I was there last. I have more pictures taken under my trips and I'll continue with more of them another day. Superpeterbilt
Wow! I have a painting of that black KW. I never knew it was a real truck. Craziness. Edited January 6, 2015 by Superpeterbilt
Petetrucker07
That truck is called "Iron sides". Its got a 3408. The owner Bob Wilson passed away a few years ago. His grandson restored the truck but without the paint scheme, all black. That trailer in the pic is a rolling casino.

I just went and read an article from 10-4 magazine about him. So he was sort of another Tyrone Malone. The article said that Iron sides had a Cummins KT575 putting out 1400 horses. Jeez... Petetrucker07
Hey Terry. Did you happen see the trucks in this months issue of 10-4. That original small window '72 358, the all white 389 made up old school, 359 dash look a like mercury bunk. This month is a good 1.

No, I dont a have a subscribtion(I almost said perscription)to the mag anymore. I found the 10-4 article online when I looked up the truck. I would love to see that 358 though. Force
More photos from my travels to your country. We are still in the year 2009, my friend Joe in Hesperia Ca also had this Ford F6 COE...kind of cool if you ask me. Now we skip ahead a couple of days and a visit to John Force Racing in Yorba Linda Ca...here are his daughter's Brittany and Courtney's race car hauler from when they competed in Top Alcohol class with a couple of A/Fuel Dragsters, I believe the tractor is a Peterbilt 387. The same day we went to Irvindale and looked at the the practice for the Formula Drift series invited by Samuel Hübinette, and I shot a few trucks there. First a Kenworth W 900L. Team Falken's Volvo VN 670 and a Freightliner Cascadia. A Peterbilt 387 also at irvindale Speedway. More later. highway
Long ago in a time before cameras on phones, I was running with a NASCAR convoy of the official's rigs on I77 just north of Charlotte as they were coming on the interstate from an exit. I actually chatted with them on the CB and ran with them for a few miles, that is until they all lined up together and dropped the hammer where my 65 MPH Wenie Wagon couldn't keep up! Petetrucker07
I think its awesome that someone so far from my part of So Cal comes here to visit. Then takes pics of the cool trucks rollin around here, even some from my own town. Heres a local truck and friend at a rock and sand quarry just south of Vegas, about a 1/2 hour. Well the world is small...I have been to the So-Cal area 7 times so far, 1998, 2003, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2014, and I'm planning to go over again this upcomming fall...but nothing is decided on when, where and how yet but I think we'll end up in the So-Cal area somehow...we usually do. And, Hakan.....I can hook you up, Man.....Just let me know..... Yes I know, I PM'd you about it a little while ago, I haven't had the time to do any more about it yet. but I'll look into it soon.
