  1. Very very very nice model buildTomo !!!!!!!, I Love MOPARS :-) particually 68~70 Chargers Sorry to add these pics, I can remove if you like but great to see a fellow european on this fab forum. Cheers
  2. stunning ! Hi Jay, So glad to see someone actually building a correct replica MPC 1/16 General Lee, just by correcting the front wheel arches to the right shape transforms the car to how it should look! Its a shame that MPC didnt invest a little bit moor into the original tooling to make a correct body with wipers, gas cap, correct grill & full interior. I had an original one here in the UK back in 1981 as a dukes of hazzaed mad kid, was obsessed by the General and still by the 69 Charger. I have the new release to start, I'll defo be doing the front arches straight away, use the original alloys but tires will be poached from an old 1/16AMT 57 chevy which also had the gorgeous cragar wheels!, As well as buildinga General Lee, I'll also do a standard 1/16 Charger, use the Cragars with big n liitle tyres, add the extra chrome strips, may add a vinal roof, give it a weekend street/strip drag look from late 60's. Your detaling is fantastic, looking forward to seeing the finished car :-) I love chargers, heres my revell 1/25 RT, want to base the 1/16 version on this, wouldnt it be great if Revell released a 1/16 version of the 1/25 version!, the detail would be fantastic! Cheers Damian
  3. Very nice indeed, great detail there Mark ! any more movie cars on the go ? Cheers Damian
  4. Yep, be great to see it finished Nick, I had two of these, the first being back in 1982 here in the UK under the Airifix Logo, certainly made my 12th birthday! Had another one under the original MPC logo a couple of years ago but stupidly sold it on Ebey, nevermind Im sure one day another wil pop up. I will say the quality of MPC wasnt the greatest back then but as a 12 yr old kid didI really care...Naaahhh, was too excited about having a 1/16 slick bitchin black Trans Am with working front suspension..outta this world back then! So at theh end of the day its a plastic model kit to enjoy what ever age you are, I think as adults your memory of a said kit was of total excitiment, to find the same one again 20~30 yrs later can be a bit of come down as yr expecting so much more form that fuzzy memory, but they give us great memories and thats whats counts! So crack open the glue n paint my son & do it ! Cheers Damian
  5. Bitchin ! love it
  6. Hi Bob, The wheels are from 1978 release Monogram 55 Ford F-100, also have the vintage 69 Street Camaro with same wheels, almost dont want to break up these great kits for their wheels as I love them but I have a good selection of classic cragars to replace them. I still may leave the Ford wheels & use the Camaro ones....the agony of choice! but I know now I'll use the Slixx 'Big Kahuna' decals to go on the doors of the 55 ford, just need a couple of scale surf boards. If you see my Drag racing thread you can see the Scottys muffler decals I used on the 33 Willys gasser model (original AMT release from mid 70's I think). Am quite excited about this build, will probably do it before all my other ' started projects' but I agree the body isnt that great , although by no means bad, the Revell Nomad version is far more accurate but could bring myself to buy & cut it up ! Cheers Damian
  7. Hi Guys, firstly sorry for my late reply and thanks for your nice comments, Mark, the Scottys Muffler shop decals were from the old 1978 issue Monogram Yellow 55 Ford F-100 pick up truck, great model with very nice mag wheels. I still have to build it, I've pinched the mags for my 57 Chevy nomad/pick up project, thread started tonite. Cheers Damian
  8. Hi Slusher, thanks for your comments, the paint is automotive Ford Signal Yellow in acrylic, bought at our local auto store here in the UK called Halfords.
  9. Hi JIm, sounds really nice, look forward to the build, yeah the flames are very nice, I may seriously consider them now ! Thanks Damian
  10. Thanks Harry :-)
  11. Here my version of the Revell 32 Ford Coupe, Radar wheels pinched from the Revell 63 (?) Ford falcon, love this kit, may add some side decals but may just leave it as is.
  12. Very Sweet build !
  13. Hi guys, Bought of this ebay, Monograms re-release 57 Chevy Nomad, used to have the original yellow version as a kid back in the mid 80's which is when I first cut the roof off. So this time round its the same idea but with much more better detailing and I may loose the rear seats, cut the rear off the removed roof panel section & re-atttach to the rear of the front section using the rear window to give it a factory look if that makes sense, I think Danbury Mint did one-off 57 Chevy ute pick up so it'll be based on this, was a bit gutted that you dont get the surf board with this new release, any one know where can I get a few of these in same scale ? Wheels are poached from 1978 release Monograms 55 Ford F-100, not sure on paint colour yet, may do it red actually, will have the hise rise dual carb manifold set up option too. I want a kind of cool hot Rodded surf wagon turned into a cool pick up! May use some of the SLIXX decals to go on the side but not sure which ones, the big kahuna look good but will save these for the F100 Ford 55 pick up I've yet to make, anyway hope to get some progress on this new kit, sorry If I take while..life gets in the way :-) Cheers Damian
  14. Hi Guys, thanks for your kind feed back ! Hi Harold, yes its my Rover in the profile pick, Its a 1972 Rover P6 3500 V8 auto, its been my resto project for the last two years, I need to to start a thread on the 1:1 page with the details but I've repainted the whole car in Cellulose Monza Red, rebuilt top end of the engine, added high volume oil pump, mallory disty, SD1 heads. Best feature are the 7x15" Cragar 500s Alloy wheels..love em! Cheers damian
  15. Hi Brandon, thanks for comment LOL, Well I wasn't sure about the flag but now I know I'll sort the CB ariel and get some better pics uploaded with the flagg, after all its a just a model car from a TV programme from over 30 yrs ago! I stil have 69 Super Bee, a Dick Landy 69 Charger, 71 Hemi Cuda & another 69 Charger and a 71 Charger to build as yet! I kinda like Mopars :-) Cheers Damo
  16. More muscle cars! these are my favorite two, used to own a 74 Challenger here in the UK back in 1998 but haven't had a Charger as yet, too expensive these days & it wont fit in my garage LOL. Anyway the TA is stock with Rims pinched from an old Monogram 55 Ford step side kit, was yellow with brilliant 'Scottys Muffler shop' decals which I used on my 33 Willys Gasser I posted yesterday in Dragsters. General Lee is the fantastic Revell 69 Charger kit with 68 body, AMT Eckler Vett rims with the Ram & decals bought from Ebay, still need to re-do the CB ariel with a thinner attenna.
  17. Built these last year, really pleased with finish, still have a 66 Chevy Malibu to finish in gasser form
  18. Love these cars, built a short while ago, auto paint, polished, rims from old Revell VW beetle.
  19. Hi, Finished this a short while ago, one of my favorite muscle cars, pretty much stock build, used the hemi & wheels are pinched from the Revell 32 Ford Street Rod. Paint is auto met blue & clear coat.
  20. Hi guys, just signed up to this great site, will be posting a few topics with builds & finished kits, Have this 79 Z28 on the go, wheels from Tamiya Porsche GTS, will use the seats too, may paint the body in red as I used to have real 79 Z28 several yrs ago here in the UK. Other project build is the Revell 69 Charger with Slixx Dick Landy Decals, need to BMF then start the chassis & interior. Cheers Damian My old 1:1 Z28 from 2002
