  1. I am looking for some 10:00-20 tires (not resin castings on rims already) with a decent mud or offroad type tread. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thx

  2. No, you got it. I meant the bed finish. I also like the covering on the seat.
  3. You did a really nice job. What did you use for the pickup bed?
  4. Back when this kit was orig made (80's), a way to know the weight carrying capacity of the truck was to look and count the lug nuts. 8 was the sign of a 3/4 ton truck or even a heavier 1 ton, the 3/4 would be either a 20 (chevy) or a 2500 (gmc). And the "3/4 ton" was missleading too, as the vehicles also had an HD (heavy duty) cousin still badged the same that would carry even more. All the 8 lugs means is it is a heavier more capable truck-something I would want when pushing snow. 6 lugs was a 1/2 ton, softer ride, but less heft for work. (Sorry, I am a truck person, if you want a soft ride and are not worried about what a truck will do, then you need to be in a car.)
  5. I am a snow plow guy. Post some pix when you get this one done. I'll do the same.
  6. I dont have the gas station truck, but do have the green, stock, 1950 3100, and I really like the detail and the quality. Got to admit one thing. I have been out of this hobby since the late 80's, so seeing what is being made today, versus what I last had to work with, todays detail and choices are really good.
  7. I hear you, it has been 20+ years for me. It started with my being in a store one day with nephew and daughter, and I saw the detail now avail. I remember thinking why didnt they have this stuff when I was doing these? Well now they have a ton of stuff, and from the pix, you are doing a pretty good job. Rock on!
  8. Thx, Greymack, headed there now

  10. Hey Chuck, (Michigan Madman), I like your dodge flatbed. Another project I have planned is a "roll back" as we called it, or a car carrier. Thats gonna be on an International cab and chasis, I am looking at using AIM's 2070 with a big gas engine under the hood.
  11. Thanks to both of you for your responses. Especially to you Fat B, as I went an bought the cab within seconds of seeing your suggested link. I like what that site has, and even gave them a nudge about some kits I would buy if they had them. As for the fender on the 56, and my having to take a P/U and stretch out the fenders, does anyone know of a spec site where I can get dimensions to go from? Thanks again.
  12. I want to build several 10-ton dump trucks that we had on our farm in my youth. I am especially interested in the 56, 67 & 72 Ford F-800's. Short of buying pickups and changing the nose, does anyone know of any cabs coming out? As for changing the nose, has anyone done so? I could use some pointers, or would be willing to consider buying your attempts. I am serious, let me know.
