  1. "The wheels of his Mustang exploding on the Highway like a slug from a .45. True death, 400 horsepower piercing the night. This is - Black Sunshine." Will be following. :-)
  2. Classic Muscle rims on a Hotrod. With a Gold Donk. And a Green paintjob? Wanna sell it when you're done?
  3. I'm 18 mate. If you get on well with the local Hobby retailer, and they know how you build, and how much you fork into models they might be lenient. With a 500 dollar car I'd only go third party property fire and theft - instead of full comprehensive. Between the age 16 and 18 there's no difference man. Adults still treat you like kids. The only people who will treat you fair are the Army. (seriously) You're old enough to be sent to boot camp/kapooka/wherever. Then when you're 17 you're old enough to be sent over seas but still not old enough to drink. That's the way the world works. It sucks mate, but hold out, in the next 2 years you can not only start an apprenticeship, but you can either complete school - or drop out and become part of the workforce. (I chose the latter because I don't wanna be a Nuclear Physicist, or a Botantist, or a Teacher like my Parents and Grandparents.. Go figure.) But I'm going to uni, might study a heap of random I'll never use to show on my Resume. OH. AND. You don't have to Vote yet. As soon as I turned 18 I was splashed with bills, voting info, credit cards. Everything you get hit with when you turn 18. So enjoy the next two years as much as possible hey? Life is never completely fair, and you can sit back and laugh at the idiots that treat you like a 12 year-old - because they haven't had to put up with what you had to. Probably all delinquents, scholars, or egotists. Your friends know who you are - and that was always good enough for me.
  4. Go to the bloke. If it's for sale check all these places: Sills. Rear floor pan. Boot/trunk pan. Front foot well. Lower door inners. Rear window surround. Inner front frame rails. Front radiator support. All holes in the firewall. And if only half of those show rust - you have a cleaner mustang than I have ever seen un-restored.
  5. Wow. SO MUCH SHINY. I gotta get me some of this "alclad" stuff..
  6. Thanks guys - it's the new kit tooling that comes with the multiple engine options I think. Doesn't matter. I have two Hemi long blocks and two 440 long blocks, and 1 351 long block, 1 302 long block, 1350 long block, and one 427 long block. And a few rocker covers, some carbies, and a heap of air cleaners, (Just no trumpets.. I'll just make them.) So engine options aren't really an issue for me... lol. Want it because A: It's a hot rod. and B: because it's a pickup.
  7. Thanks guys. :-) Anyone know anywhere in OZ I can grab it? haha... 30 bucks shipping is not appealing - especially when on a budget. Those rods look really good. The only issue I am facing is the Square shape of the Bucket I have never been a big fan of and I'm wondering how hard it';d be to mix a Chevy AK Cab that's been Chopped into the mix?
  8. wow. The engine looks superb, clean and simple. The colour of the body is really "in your face" but at the same time mellow. I love it mate. This a Revell kit?
  9. It was Acrylic primer, With Acrylic paint. And I know EXACTLY what went wrong. The solvent I used to thin the paint so I could spray it with the airbrush reacted with the Tape adhesive, causing the two to almost combine, then something else happened and it all started bubbling/peeling. All good - gonna grab myself some brake fluid sometime next week while I'm not searching for a Job.. lol
  10. Thanks mate. :-) Without Pics I can't pick what's what in the Styrene department. But they have a nice selection of race-spec models. :-D
  11. Yeah - they have the 2012 release on there too. Same thing - but re-toolled. It's half the price. lolwut? I guess because it's an "older" kit it's worth more.. haha. EDIT: Yeah the kit Austin just posted the link to. Bit weird huh? Same thing... 14 bucks less?
  12. Anyone bought/built this kit before? It's a 3 'n 1 Model T Hot Rod kit - comes with multiple engines, rims, etc. I want it because it's a Pick-up body - with rails designed for pick-ups. So - has anyone bought this kit, found any issues, and moreover, has anyone purchased from Modelroundup outside of the US?
  13. Yeah - gonna strip it back. Anyone know anywhere in Oz, or over the pond that I can get cheap Evergreen stuff? The guys over here in Penrith - kinda don't have any good modelling stock.
  14. ok - so there's been a SLIGHT. Teency. Weency. little problem. Masked up the green, noticed something weird under it... The green paint, all shiny and awesome in it's appearance - bubbled up and peeled right off. I have NOOOO clue why. But it means I gotta have a slight colour change. To Black 'Cause I got no green - and it was the last Green pot in Penrith. :s ANYWAY - repainted it. Considering getting some brake fluid to demolish the paint and start over. in the mean time - Interior. And Sub frame. :-D Ah well - repaint.
  15. The light grey on the darker grey looks awesome. It's not metallic is it? It suits it so well.
  16. more pictures - ended up going with my Two tone look. And it's f'ing bright Green. lol. anyway... 440 cubes in the process of painting - Chrysler Orange. Basic Subframe - I am hoping to get some solid bar to work with - but It's not too bad working with the hollow bar. Didn't set at the right angles - it's higher, but it's not... "In your face" enough like the AM Chassis. Showing the cross bar to mount the springs and shocks onto off the Diff. Primed. Wet sanded. SHIIIIIIIINNNNNYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hood is going the green too - but the vents on either side (the orange bit.. lol) I am painting matte black. Comments and Criticism welcome. :-) This is also my First time using my Airbrush - came out quite good.
  17. I love it! Inspiring man, very clean.
  18. I'd vote Leave them if you're going for a stock body - and it also helps tuck the wheel to achieve more "Low" visually. HOWEVER. With cool wheels - you wanna be able to see them right?
  19. That's what I'm thinking - it's the main car I have as my "Idea's" picture - and that First pic is my PC wallpaper.. lol. I still dunno whether I go full black with green highlights. Or the Two tone.. Anyone got suggestions? You posting that makes me set on the Gloss black bumpers - thinking about molding them in too...
  20. Are you going with a Mopar Deck Two-tone? where it's flat black on the top body line all over the top? Or just the roof, hood, trunk and wing? it'd look too broken up IMO and wouldn't flow.. With the interior, try Black with red inserts - wont be so "in your face" - but again, IMO. Can't wait to see it. :-)
  21. wooooooo... That's a clean Donk. If only it were 1:1 huh?
  22. Figured I'd build something cool - with an actual plan from the start. Anyway... The idea is to build this: '69 GTX. Full custom fabricated Sub frame - inspired by Marcus Jones and his '68 Charger - here: http://www.modelcars...16 Some deep dish scale 19-20" wheels with some serious rubber in the bum. Schmick paint job - two tone. Acid Green ontop of black, with a silver pin stripe separating the two - then Flat Black Bumble bee stripe on the back. (maybe on the black bumble bee stripe) Gloss black window surround, etc - all chrome will be gloss black. Fully detailed engine bay with a 426 HEMI - with a stock interior. Hoping she comes out pretty good. EDIT: Ok - so I may end up only building a custom rear subframe - I have to wait until my wheels arrive to be sure - In the mean time - I'm still gonna build the full subframe just to prove to myself that I can with my limited resources. :-D Anyway pics so far: Side trim shaved, badges shaved, side markers filled and shaved. Shot this side in primer to see how it came out, minor sanding and a little bog to go. Rear subframe on the left - I've progressed a tad further since then - but I dunno if it'll hold... Anyway - more pics to come as I get further tonight while I watch Smokey and the Bandit 2. Suggestions and criticism welcome. :-)
  23. hahaha - the under carriage looks like ###### - I just want to clean up the front with a K-frame - just for pete's sake. The rear wheels are cut up so they fit over the rear leaf springs - which are mounted in the stock position, but have the ends cut off so they sit lower.. which is still pretty high - lol. I'll grab one for you anyway. In the mean time while I wait for stuff to appear from no where to wire up the engine bay - I've started work on my '69 Pro touring GTX.
  24. UPDATE. So - the wheels are on, engine and interior are in, front and back are done, just gotta finish the under side detail (making a low profile K-Frame for it so it doesn't look retarded. Basically she's pretty much done, just needs final engine details, wiring and cables, etc - gotta get some super fine wire for all of that - going to make a whole loom then just glue it in. Pics: Waiting for engine bay goodies. How's that for rake? Disc brakes, gloss black wheels, and bog stock body. :-D Gauges are painted. :-D loooooooooowwww - everything is tucked up and the engine has been raised by 2mm on the engine mounts so the GT350 sump clears the ground with a K-frame (soon to be) under it. Bucket seats. Gotta add parkers and indicators to her. Then she's done. Hope you guys like it, she's not perfect - but I made some sacrifices to get her where she is. Next project: Yes, that is a '69 GTX that is being shaved and smoothed out. And yes - that is the beginnings of a full custom sub frame to get her to sit about 4-5 mm off the ground. Pro Touring baby. With some deeeeeep dish.
  25. Ok - so I think I ended up going pro touring on it. Sticking with my Satin Silver look with the gloss wheels. Engine and interior are in - but I buggered up the RHD rear Shelby window - good thing all the mistakes are on the right hand side - because she's a Left hand display model anyway. :-D Pics soon - just gotta shoot the front and rear panels as well as the hood, put some wiring in the engine bay and we're all good for a display model. Right now - I gotta mow the lawn. lol.
