  1. The Pontiac Banshee was a styling study for a future Firebird. Ironically it didn`t been reality only a few styling elements can be seen on the 1993 Firebird . The model was built from a Revell kit. The use of some putty was necessary at the rear panel and in the interior at the complicate formed dashbord area at poor fits and gaps. Headlights and wiring/ plumbing on engine are added all are nearly invisible. What a waste of time, energy and material could say one but we know it`s a great joy to make !
  2. Many thanks for the nice coments ! I`m happy to see that you enjoye this auto/model as I do after more years till today too.
  3. The openable doors are made by me. The kit was with closed doors and the wheels are from kit .
  4. The Pontiac Club de Mer was built for the 1956 GM Motorama. The body was made of aluminium, a Pontiac V8 engine worked with a transaxle transmission and has been driven extensively for different tests. A ΒΌ scale model was paralell built and this exists today while the car was scrapped in 1958. The model was built from a Revell kit. I completed the model with inside wheelhouses made from plastic cafecups. The paint job is light blue metalic, the interior and inside of wheel arches vermilion.
  5. Here are some pic of the door hinges details. Sorry not very much to see. On the other hand just that was my goal . But if I remove the door

  8. Many thanks for the nice comments. I beg your pardon I was not enought accurate: the kit is a Jo-Han 1:25 curbside kit. The other Jo-Han kit I think is 1:18. As I saw a pic of a ready model made from that kit I hasitated long to open the hood and install a scratchbuilt engine. I collected ref. pictures of engine and engine bay but I saw I shall need to make a subframe behind the dashboard and the place is too narrow there ... So I didn`t dare start - I`m not very experienced in such works. Shardic and Dominic: sorry I have no photos about the door hinges in progress. I shall check how much can I catch with camera.
  9. The Crysler Turbine cars were made from 1962-1964. Bodies were made by Ghia in Turin, Italy the result: the most beautifull turbine car built ever. It was the first and only consumer test ever conducted of gas turbine-powered cars. 55 units built totally few remaind in museums and collection todays. The model built from a Jo Han kit. Some addition inside/outside: pedals, shifters, scratchbuilt headlights made of separat reflector and glas and it was my first attempt to use BMF. The paint is on a dark brawn base a breath of bronze metallic, than similarly thin red perlescent and a main coat of orange perlescent and at last clear coated more times.
  10. Thank you for the nice opinions ! - midnightprowler: You have right ! That time when I built the model I had no BMF and later I didn`t dare to to try it on this model without any practice. Perhaps I shall do it some day.
  11. The Lincoln Futura was built by Ford, the body made by Ghia in Italy. While the car was extreme and even impractical it was a fully operable car. George Barris used the car for build the first Batmobile for the movie about a decade later. The modell is built from a Revell-Monogram kit. To open the middle section of bubble top was an interesting challenge. The other challenge was to make the body straight again because the original plastic was hooked as a propeller !
  12. The XP 882 Aerovette is the closest one ever came to seeing production in 1973. It has a showy, slippery exterior, 72 degree sloped windshield and unique bi-fold gullwing doors. I not only missed this handsome model from my collection but I found the task very attractive to prepare the bi-fold gullwing doors workable. The model was built from a Revell-Monogram kit. I made some additional parts to model as pedals and inside mirror, wiring and tubing on engine, door sealing profile. As I didn`t find any paint Platinum Metallic I mixed 90% Aluminum and 10% Titanium Metallic from Testors for paintjob and clear coated with a waterborn clear lacquer.
  13. The Mako Shark II was unveiled in 1965. There were 2 cars made. A non running "clay" car followed by a running prototype. The original non running clay car had a unique side exhaust and the interior features an aircraft style square steering wheel and a huge array of gauges. The model of the clay model was built from a MPC Custom Corvette kit. The kit was not komplet so I used only the body, the mold of passanger bay and seats. A simple chassis, exhaust, dashboard and steering wheel were scratcbuilt. Wheels and tyres are made of resin. I loved this car from the begining ! The built of this model made me the most enjoy. There was a lot of things to scratchbuilt, to make templates for mold parts from resin or to carve the dashbord and draw the instruments on computer.
  14. The final version of the XP 755 Shark was renamed Mako Shark I after the introducing the Mako Shark which was named II. The car has been fitted with several engines including a turbo charged 427 for the 1962 New York Auto Show. The dashboard was redesigned and the glass double bubble top was no more used. The model was built from AMT Snap Fast kit OOB, only repainted out- and inside.
  15. The early version of XP-755 Shark was still without front bumpers but with the same removable double-bubble top, wire wheels and interior as the XP-700. The engine was now charged by a GMC-4-53 Roots compressor and on the bonnet was Supercharged readable on both sides of the vents of compressor. Bill Mitchell received an original Ferrari steering wheel as a gift from Enzo Ferrari shortly befor he let put it in this car. The model was built from Minicraft Models Inc. kit in 1:20 scale. Nearly all parts of kit had to be altered or changed by scratch built ones. The assembly sequence had to be altered too to give a possibility for the nice body paint black-blue on top with a smooth changing to white at below.. I scratchbuilt new wheels and tyres because the original ones were too smal.
  16. I`m an enthusiast of design studies, concepts and showcars. I would like to show my built ups in this theme in the next time. Chevrolet started to make a new Corvette-study in 1958. First it was a two tone blue hardtop. They replaced it with a convertible top in April and changed the body color to red in August. The final, revised version with longer and reshaped front came in 1960. The first two variants are scratch built from Matchbox #72 Corvette 1962. The final version is altered from an AMT Corvette 1962 Two in One kit and completed with vacuum formed windshild and double-bubble top, side pipes and schratch built wire wheels.
