  1. I stopped by the hobby store on the way home from work. I got a few ideas up my sleeve! I'll post on the workbench once I get a little free time to start on it!
  2. Hey everyone.. I just recently purchased the AMT Diamond Reo, this will be the first build in a year (since the Italeri Pete 379) I'm lost as to what to do with this kit. I can't seem to find any ideas for paint schemes, or any reference photos for that matter. So if anyone has any reference photos, ideas, or tips they will be more than welcomed! Thanks!
  3. Hey everyone, here are some pics of the finished product. Trailer and load pictures to come. Thanks for looking!
  4. Thanks for all the kind words! The build is coming along very nice for being a beginner. Here are a few more pics, thank you all for following this post!
  5. Hey everyone, here are a few pics of my current progress Thanks for looking!
  6. Thanks guys! I've been busy hauling silica sand the past few days and haven't had much time to build. Will upload a few pics later on tonight! Kyle
  7. Great way of looking at it Tim! Thanks guys! Will post more pics tonight, keep an eye out
  8. Hey guys, this is the start to my Pete 378, first of all I am aware the kit does NOT come with a Caterpillar motor, but I did not have adequate colors for a Detroit, and well, after all it is the modeling world, and creativity, and improvisions never hurt, right? Anyways, here are a few pics of the chassis and motor. The goal with this truck is to make an oversized load hauler, which I will be giving to my girlfriend. A little new to semi's so please bare with me thanks, Kyle
  9. Can't wait to start the Pete 378!!

  10. Looks great so far! Can't wait to see the finished product
  11. Wow! Thank you very much, that was a great help, I look forward to this build, thank you for all the tips!
  12. I have heard the complaint about the picture on the box not being accurate, I am not all that concerned with that. On this build I would like to add a pusher axle, a 20,000# front axle, headache rack (due to the fact that I'm going to be placing a flatbed behind it) and a light bar, with possibly a few extra work/spot lights around the cab, but I am unsure where I can find those things, and I am not quite skilled enough to make my own. Would you have any ideas on where I could begin to look for them? Thanks! Kyle
  13. I just ordered the Peterbilt 378 from Italeri, For those of you who have built it what should I look for? Any negative things with the kit? Any positive things with the kit? Also tips for a beginner would be greatly appreciated. My goal with this build is to make a "heavy hauler" or a truck that you might see on the ice roads of Alaska. What specific things can I do to make that goal possible? Once I receive the kit I will post a new thread and take you all through the build. Thanks very much!
  14. Thank you very much! I have a feeling that I will be up for a challenge with this one lol
  15. I am going to start working on the fruehauf flatbed soon, and I have a few questions.. First of all, I am sort of new to the tractor trailer building, so my future builds you will all see won't be able to compare to any of yours, but you have to start somewhere. My first question is; is it possible to make the trailer have the axles split? And if so, how could I go about doing that? Next question I have is how could I make an "oversized" load, and what could I make it out of? My goal with this build is to replicate one of the trucks you would see on Ice Road Truckers. I have ordered the Italeri Peterbilt 378 to pull this trailer, but I have not yet received it. Your questions/tips/pointers would be greatly appreciated to help me make this an awesome build. Thanks! Kyle
