  1. Steve My daughter give me the "American Hot rod book" from his show last Christmas, It has most of his cars in it, would like me to bring it to the show. Tony
  2. Hey' Thanks guys for your input, the rooms look great. I do like the high shelves so I can look for certain model. Yes I have been looking at putting a spray booth in also. Thanks Tony
  3. Love your 32 panel, the wire wheels give a great old school feel. I started one a while back, it's a surf wagon. I cut the curtains out it was easy, and put a panel in the sides.
  4. I need some help designing my hobby room now that my kids have moved out. After going to football games, wresting matches for my son and plays, voice recitals for my daughter. I now have the time to start building the 250 or more models mostly AMT cars and trucks that I have collect over the years. It looks like it’s a good thing because AMT may be gone. I also have lots of car magazines. Looking on the board I have noticed that other people own as many models or more. So how do you store your models? Any suggestions on how to set-up your work bench? I would love to see some others modelers work areas and get ideas on what I need and what I haven’t thought of. The room isn’t big, its 10’ x 10’ so I don’t have too much space. Your thoughts, ideas and experience would greatly be appreciated. Thanks Tony
  5. Happy Halloween everyone Just a fun build that needs to be finish, but fits the season. It was the Polar lights Ghostbusters Caddy. Thanks
  6. If you have a spare woodie how about a trailer like this to go with your great looking woodie. Tony
  7. There is also a small hobby store going out of busness this week in Dublin, this Saturday the July 1 is their last day open. The name of the store is Wold"s Hobbies 7100 Village Parkway Dublin 94568. The last time I was in there he had 1/32 slots cars and 1/24. It is about 25 miles from San Jose and 50 miles for San Fransico.
  8. Great start. Are going to use Fuchs or newer wheels. But you must run a 3.0 for power in your real 911. But for me the engine in the wrong place. Its a tail dragger, I know a good 914 can out handle a 911 on a tight road any day. This is why I know ( the for sale sign is old. its mine now,)
  9. I finally stripped the paint off my eBay bargain; I have the new convertible kit for bumpers, grill and hood. I am going to use a set of Pegasus spinner’s wheels I modified. I popped off the spinners and painted the wheels flat black then glue the spinners back on to give the wheels an old Iron cross look. So what do you guy’s think? I have seen other wheels that were modified by other modelers. I think I may start a new thread on Tips, Tricks and Ideas. Maybe others could help add there ideas.
  10. I posted these 32s some time ago and need to do a up date soon. The first one is a 32 Chevy Cabriolet and the other is kit bashing of the 32 Chevy with the Vampire Van. The Vampare Van was the 33 Panel van before MPC change it into the Vampire Van. I do find the 32 Cabriolet on sell on E-bay all the Time. They both have dual leaf springs front and rear and this where I am working the hardest to get them to sit just right. The van is easy, but the Cabriolet is giving me trouble with slamming it to the ground.
  11. Thanks Craig Wow great looking start on a Rod. I am guessing, but its a 32 Phantom Vicki with a 32 Chevy hood and parts from a Nomad for the roof Cool.
  12. I found theses on the internet Mooneyes cars show etc. I know some are 32s. But just food for thought, besides most model As have 32 grill.
  13. Thanks Steve Glad you like the Cabriolet, the sign on the panel on the Surf van is temporary. I will be working on a better one. You are right pics to big and it looks like I delete two of them. Looks like real newbe mistakes. I will have to learn how fix these problems and repost them.
  14. Hi I started these two 32 chevys a while ago, when I read that the Vampire Van was once the MPC 33 panel. I had picked-up the Vampire Van for parts and had an old 32 Chevy Cabriolet. I found that the V-van fit on the 32 fenders and that there were parts to put a Surf Van together. I cut the window curtains out and put a panel in where the Hearse windows were. I think this makes it look more like an art deco style delivery van not a hearse. What do guys think, does still look like a hearse? ( I think it's also to short be a hearse). The picture on the Surf van is temporary working on a new one. I started the 32 Chevy Rat Rod when I saw a Rat with the radiator in the trunk and just a Moon tank up front, since the grill was going to the 32 Surf Van. I thought why not ( I hate wasting good parts). I chopped the top and decide to put a Stove bolt six in it from the 51 Hard top Chevy kit. I am also putting the Fisher head on it from the same kit. I don't know what kind of fuel system to put on it. I have to do some research on that. Wow found the edit button
  15. Thanks for the welcome and I don't scare that easy. The reason why I ask about the old model truck, is that it looks like it was bult in the early sixes 61, 62. It looks like one you would see in old Rod & Customs mag. when they had models in them. It has a real wood bed and a 57 corvette hood with a 55 chevy truck cab chopped. I was thinking it may have been in Rod & Custom. The tail gate has ( Swing Low ) written on it . Here are more picts
