  1. Just finished up this second build of the AMT 1968 Pontiac GTO. This time I used the 3D printed open headlight grilled offered by Z-Force Modelworx. Paint was Tamiya TS-49 Bright Red which is actually an orange which is very close to Carousel Red (Hugger Orange for Chevrolet). I used the Rally II wheels that came with the kit for this build.

    Super clean build.

I've been too intimidated by the side molding to try this one.   Yours looks perfect.

I had to cut a thin piece of foil with a straight edge and sharp #11 X-acto blade and then apply it. Not enough raised area to trim against.

Well done Randy! I love it. I  especially like the panel between the tail lights. What did you use to to dull the chrome  without loosing the lettering and the strips? Was this area painted by brush? I am working on my own Olds and would like to replicate your results on mine.

Thanks Jerry. I painted the back panel with Testors Flat Aluminum brush paint, carefully painting around the letters.

Just when I think I've finally convinced myself that the closets are full enough of unbuilt kits, and I've no need to buy another for the next five decades. some one posts a build like this and I already know there's going to be an new addition to the family. Terrific build! I love it! I've yet to take the dive into airbrushing, so I'm wondering of you rattle-canned this beauty or decanted the TS-47 and airbrushed it? If you used the rattle can, how did you like using it? I've found the Tamiya TS spray cans to go down smoothly - I don't have the patience for enamels, so the Tamiya lacquers work well for me.

Thanks. I sprayed right from the can. Tamiya usually lay down nice.

The first picture of the box top got me excited to see the model. The following pictures didn't disappoint one bit, a very clean build indeed. There's something about a red car with redline tires that just looks so cool.

Tony...thanks. The redlines are double redlines too.4.jpg.e0638db527d7a67724cf2c0fc1c5d373.jpg
