  1. Many thanks guys - the resin isn't cheap at all, but does go toward making a lovely final product. Ah, Sorry - I glued the hood down as I didn't want it knocking the M2 off, but I'll do some pictures of the underside a little later.
  2. Hi, With a few hours to spare before my deadline expires I've managed to complete the '66 Ford Shelby GTO Zombie Hunter from Dark World Creations and Revell. I must say that this was an enjoyable build and paint job using new techniques and some new to me paint (like AK mud and Mig Rain marks). John http://www.coolminiornot.com/319345
  3. Thank you all so much for saying so. The end is in sight and it will be finished tomorrow - pictures will follow. Being the 2nd car I've ever painted I must say that it's super enjoyable.
  4. Well, I've driven it through the mud and left out in the rain over the last couple of days. Once again I'm slightly concerned that I've pushed the weathering too far. But it is what it is now - I can't take it to the car wash. Having said that it does look used! Just have the top luggage rack to work on now.
  5. Thanks Sean. I have made a couple of minor updates to the Shelby - Spade, Axe and M2 Machine Gun are all now complete just leaving the top box and body work to do.
  6. Thanks guys, it nice to know I'm not the only one that enjoys posting my wips! I've now put the thing together and painted the bare metal parts - using a white pencil I added manufacturing chalk marks Next is the weathering the main body, but that will have to wait to tomorrow (and the coming few days)
  7. Thank you so much for saying so - it put a smile on my face Do you have a link to the video's - I've looked but coundn't find them? Also I'm super happy for you to include these in the next one. With regard to forthcoming vehicles, I'm not sure - I do know there's more in the pipe line and over heard speak of a Bronco but whether that was related to this I don't know. Here's the finished interior and resin back part - Now onto the resin windows and metal thing at the front.....
  8. Right then, I've a long painting day ahead but so far I've finished the wheels, engine and underneath. Next I'm onto the interior. The resin kit is from Dark World Creations - http://www.darkworldcreations.com/shelby-gt350-upgrade-prod-37.html
  9. That's one crazy looking film, I read the book a while ago and thought it ok but the film looks to be setting a new standard!
  10. Hi, Having had a week painting something other than a vehicle I'm ready to get back into doing a zombie hunter ride. This time on working on a Shelby GT350R conversion from Dark World Creations (having just checked I see these are now on their website). I hope you like! I've got a very small time frame for this as its to be completed before a show in Bath UK on the 25th Nov. Gulp! John.
  11. Thank you all for your kind comments As for the mini gun, it's from a company called Dark World Creations. Whilst I picked this up from a show in the uk, I did speak with them yesterday on the phone and I understand its going to be on their website within the next 7 days. http://www.darkworldcreations.com/
  12. Here's my Zombie truck - resin parts from Dark World Creations base kit by Revell. John
  13. Hello Here's my latest offering to the painting gods - Dawn of the apocalypse truck. It's been an enjoyable ride but I'm glad I can paint something smaller now! Anyway - as all ways I love to hear your feedback and criticisms. http://www.coolminiornot.com/317675 John
  14. Thanks Jon and Austin, nice to know you're enjoying the process. If there's something you want to know about how I've been painting it just ask away. I got the resin from a company called Dark World Creations whilst at a model show. I've just checked and its not up on their website yet but I know they're good guys so if you contact them they maybe able to help you. http://www.darkworldcreations.com/
  15. Cheers I've now finished the bull bars - on to the mini gun tomorrow.
  16. Agh, what is it about those chrome bits I keep forgetting! Here's the next stage, I've gone for something a little different on this side -
  17. Darn, I forgot the spure thing. So, whilst there's not so much to see that's new I've been beavering away doing lots of bits - dullcoat, weathered the underneath, headlamps, one side bin, attached the bonnet, painted some fire bomb bottles and lots of other bits that need doing but gets lost in the bigger picture.
  18. Ah, thanks for that Tom, I hadn't realised that's how it looked. I shall make the necessary corrections this morning
  19. Cheers Jason, exactly the look I was going for Btw, the cargo bins are from dark world creations, I'm not sure if they're listed on the website yet - I picked these up from a show.
  20. That's great news, thanks Here's some wips ( that I've already posted over in the truck section). I think this pretty girl is going to get in the action some where too!
  21. Many thanks for your nice words. I'm still not sure it wasn't the same girl!
  22. Many thanks for all your kind comments. Regarding the method I've used to weather it, in miniature figure circles it's called glazing or sometimes people say its like applying a filter. I guess before the end I'll be adding some weathering powders too, just to give it that dusty look.
  23. I'm still progressing with it, I need to (somehow - don't know how yet) add some dead flies stuck to the front and mud splatters up the side (which I can eaily do). With regard to the weathering; I've build up lots of very thin transparent layers of dirty or muddy coloured paint ( using a brush). You have to make sure each layer is dry before doing the next one otherwise its quite a straight forward technique once you've got the paint to the right consistency. The to finish I used a tamiya weathering kit (the one with white, black and rust) The rust spots were applied using a sponge with very dark brown paint. I then picked out the lower edge of these random spots with a light blue colour to make it look 3d. Hope this gives to an idea.
  24. Thanks guys, it's good to know that I'm headed in the right direction I've been wondering how I could paint some dead flies and muck on the front but haven't come up with a good plan yet - any ideas how to simulate that? So rather than more weathering I've been working on the wooden flat bed and a resin box from Dark World Creations.
