Heck, still waiting for revell or any one kit up the 13-14, and of course the 15. Come on revell, ford...get it together! Sick of seeing camaro's on the shelves. Help please!
-
I built this kit in October last, way better kit than the amt 68 Shelby. I'll be watching your build very closely.
Keep up the good work!

You can snag the Molotow pens at Amazon. The 4 mm pen is a bit to large, 2 mm better.
-
WOW! Stunningly beautiful build. Combining it with the trailer is in a word, brilliant!
-
Beautiful, just beautiful! I'm striving to build my kit as nice as your fantastic rendering of this sows ear of a kit. You certainly made yours into a silk purse.

I'm all the way North across the city from you up in Westminster.
I think that scoop looks bad a....

Lol, where in Colorado?

Sweet!

Wow, wondering how crazy fast that would be in a real car. Crrraaaazzzyyýĺ but sweet.

Magnificent,...what more is there to say that hasn't been said?

One bad ass hotrod, great work on the flathead, looks like it is real. Your dad will love this beauty, I'm 69 and that's the way I remember hotrods back in the day.
Good work!

Fantastic...love the red! The underside is so clean it's a work of art!

This is really Sharpe looking. Gotta get one soon, nice silver and black paint, beautiful!

I believe I heard that car had a Paxton supercharger on a 289. But then Ford and Shelby were experimenting with different combinations.
Have also heard of the 428 with a SC. As well.

I LOVE this shot!
I'm doing some final tweaks to the grille opening and this pic show some very slight changes I want to make. I've got a ton of pics as I'm building the Green Hornet, but this particular dead on shot helps things a bit.
Bill, here is a great shot that might be useful.

Thank you! I looked at trying to open them up, but trying to cut those little pieces in between the vent would be almost impossible without taking some risks. I thought about cutting the entire vent out and then using thin sheet styrene to recreate it. It can be done, but would have to be meticulous in order to make it look right.
Tim
well like I found out when I ruined the hood. Like you I thought about cutting them out a building my own vents. Who knows, maybe someone else can chime in with ideas.

Your doing some fantastic work on this model. I'm building the same kit but not nearly to the extreme your doing with this 500.
The one thing that I would like to do is open the hood vents...but my first attempt at it ruined the original hood, so I had to beg, borrow steal to get a replacement hood. Any thoughts on how to open the vents or should I forget about doing that and move on with the project?
Btw, after much knashing of teeth and cursing myself I was able to get a replacement hood from AMT by supplying them the model code from the box. I guess they had some extras. It took 3 weeks however to receive it, but I probably would gladly waited 3 years.

Considering all the problems you had with the kit the final product looks very nice. This looks like one of the old screw on chassis from years ago.
LOL, no not one of the screw on chassis cars. Ahhh yes, remember when.
the box date said 1990___I assume this was an old kit redone. Wierd stuff in the box...trophys, plastic I assume was for spatula, etc.
lots of stuff not necessary.

I hope that these pics help folks with their builds.
I'm building a a Shelby 500 and realized that I really needed some 1:1 pics for my reference.

I have seen the 14' and that is not what I want to spend my money on. It comes prepainted, windows in it. It's for kids and people that are just starting into this hobby. If you or others know of a 14' gt different than the one I know of let me know.
The 13' boss however is a good kit and I do have it. Time for a 13'GT, maybe a topless model.
