  1. It is loosely based on a National 400ish, lots of modelers freedom. Trying have it somewhat functional for display. Thanks for looking.
  2. After a long break I am back fiddling with this unit. Building some rigging for picker and bed truck. Winters are long however might be able to spray some paint soon.
  3. I built these way to many years ago. Looking at them one afternoon, feeling somewhat guilty in the state they were in laying in a dust tote. I gathered up all the parts that had fallen off, replaced a couple missing ones and then it started. One thing led to another and after a few evenings of cleaning, building a few extra details, touch up painting and some simple airlines it’s starting to look like something again. Turning out not bad for a last century build.
  4. Thank you, the gold is Testors acrylic out of a 1/4 ounce bottle airbrushed and testors brown hand brushed over top. Front rims are from a ERTL IH cabover kit. The pole trailer used to be black and the reach was broken in half, suspension pivot was glued solid. Half the fun was rebuilding and getting it to work again.
  5. Thank you so much for looking, will definitely look into the weathering powders. I’m just experimenting with washes right now. Also using some artists pens, India ink for black details and panel lines. Lots to learn sometimes best by trial and error.
  6. I’ve spent some time on finishing this one up. It is set up as a multipe use day cab with the removable log bunk/headache rack and able to switch to fifth wheel. Again experimenting with weathering and it’s certainly a fine art as well as a fine line. Any advice or suggestions welcome. Still a couple small details and paint. The hood doesn’t quite line up just like the real one (been rode hard). And best of all, I did not lose the hood ornament. It has been under lock and key to be installed last. Thanks for looking.
  7. Calling this one finished. It was an interesting project. Thanks for looking.
  8. Thank you everyone for the kind comments. A few more progress pics. Changed direction on this, being my first attempt at a diorama.
  9. Thanks for looking, Turned the lids using my dremel and used evergreen tube and a pair of Kootney 3D elbows cut down to 45. I will say this, the poly used in 3D printing in this case is very brittle and not very machinable at all. Now to figure out the mirrors.
  10. Thanks everyone for the kind comments, I switched gears on this and added the cold climate air intakes. A friend RC Mark suggested it and I’m glad I did. Cab, engine and other sub assemblies are just sitting on frame for mock-up nothing glued. Started some painting and hoping to finish soon.
  11. Nice work, I am definitely a fan of the Hayes Trucks
  12. Few more progress shots, poles and flip fifth wheel work. Have a few things to finish on the float, glad it fits the bed truck.
  13. Thank you, yes it will be similar colors and same company theme.
  14. Few more progress pics of the bed truck. Almost coming together for paint before the snow season.
  15. Thanks, its been a project, numerous changes and always trying to figure something out. I was a swamper and eventually ran a small bed when I was a young man moving rigs.
  16. Working on the poles among the 100 other things that this will need. Thanks for looking.
  17. With the Pete out of the way for now I’m focused on continuing with the bed truck, I decided to rebuild some prior work and trying to put a nose on it. Thanks for looking.
  18. Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I’m pretty happy with it so far, 2 pieces to go with it. I still have the build going on in the WIP section. Thanks again for looking.
  19. My version of a typical western Canadian winch tractor setup, late 80’s or early 90’s era. Base kits are a snap Pete and a TMC flatbed trailer. Calling it done for now, good from afar however far from good. In this case, the hobby room was finished before the project. Thanks for looking.
  20. Thanks, it been a project. A rigsaver is a gate valve type device that will when activated, prevent air from entering the engine intake air system. This prevents a engine runaway situation. Mine is mounted on the air inlet piping before entering the turbo compressor.
  21. With almost no more bare plastic or primer, it’s starting to take shape. The jeep got some rework again, it was built a number of years ago. Mocking up and installing some plumbing, numerous lights, reflectors and details. weathering to finish
  22. Thank you, I learned quite a bit on this project
