  1. Thanks! I settled on Testors pure gold lacquer. I tried using the closest gold looking at pics of the 1:1 car, but it seemed different from one photo to the next, so I just picked what I thought was closest. The black was Tamayi black and automotive clear.

    Thanks guys.

  2. Hey Guys, I wanted to post the pics of my finished Baldwin Motion King Cobra ( That’s 2 in a row that I started and finished! ) After seeing both Dom and Ray’s BAldwin Motion Chevelle and King Cobra I was inspired. I used a set of Patto’s decals for. The King Cobra, as they are white and used the kit decals for the rest. They weren’t in the best shape but look ok. I’m glad I did it, so now I have 2 more for my Baldwin Motion collection. I also used other tires for the front and back which looked better than the kit tires.

Thanks for all the great posts!

  3. Well, I finished it today. A lot of weathering and I decided to make a base for it with a pic of the way it was when it was in the barn. If you look you’ll see the stripes are identical to the original ones on the car. If you look closely at the underside you’ll see the C6 trans oil pan also. Hope you like it and thanks for looking. I think this was a great example of turning lemons into lemonade!

  4. I made a little more progress. The engine is detailed painted and I added a comp resins C6 automatic. the interior is done,  and I added the correct automatic shifter and his custom steering wheel. I need the 2nd kit to finish the stripes, by cutting a piece of the black portion and covering the BOSS name, as the 1st one did not have the BOSS 302 in the stripes yet. I started scuffing the chrome and will begin the weathering/rusting after the chassis is finished. I decided as long as I was going this route I would weather the engine compartment, engine and under the hood. Hopefully it will be convincing!

  5. UPDATE: Well, after a disaster with clearing it, ( too many drips probably due to too much reducer ) I decided to strip it and start over. When that seemed like it was not going to work because the clear was pretty dry and it was becoming more of a mess I figured I’d just start over with a new kit. No one has them, and from what I understand its sold out and may be reissued in July.

I decided to go another route after looking at the article again... now it will be as found, with 20 years of grime, rust and weathered. Here’s the progress so far.  I also made a copy of the photo when it was found which will be against the back of the case. Thanks for looking.
