  1. I had some time today, started trying to get the front looking correct. Many thanks to Ron Olsen for letting me get some measurements of a 1/4 scale hemi he 3D printed for me, that along with some images of the internet and I still need to get the distributor mag hole put on it. A lot to do yet but it's starting to look like something.
  2. Blocked in some heads, header flanges, valve covers......alot to go, thought I'd share. I'll ax the main bearing caps, don't need those
  3. Pretty slow at work right now so I started an alum engine design. I started with a free engine file I found on-line, then I'm modifying it to my liking, sorta referencing the 481X block as I like it's appearance more than the AJ block. I'm having difficulty finding dimensions for the Hemi front side of the engine I'd like to put on this, any help would be appreciated to save me an hour drive to go measure one out, LOL. When it done it'll be bbc bellhousing pattern, Hemi front, custom sides see attached pictures I have roughed in & hemi style heads. P.S. I'm using UG NX11.0 software if anyone is curious.
  4. No visible progress. As this will be by first attempt at brass, I have done a little research in hopes I can succeed on it. Round filing seemed to take way too long so I purchased a 5mm carbide cutter and plan on rigging up something either in the manual lathe or my bench mill so notching the tubing is easy. I'll try and find some time in the next week to do at least the floor structure before hanging it up for the summer. I have a lot to do this year outside.
  5. Nothing to show this weekend I was too busy focusing on my health and family. I still hope to get started on this chassis this month. Thank you for all the nice comments. I've gotten a few messages about the build and it seems some others really like that I have more than myself contributing to the build and then there was one guy that doesn't think that's cool at all but I explained if I didn't include some key others it'd take me ten years to ever get anything done. I took an inventory of the brass I have and it looks like I have everything handy to get it started, just have to find the time now this month as I know when April hits I'll have no time for it.
  6. Bill Sansone helped me out with these, look nice Simpson blackout. Pretty sure i have some silver i can put on the ropes to look the part a bit more
  7. My wife found some material for the chutes
  8. Nothing this week guys. Thanks for all the encouraging comments. The weather is starting to break and I was very busy with family and house things this weekend. My 1:1 64 Malibu build will be coming home from the chassis shop in a month or two so I'm trying to stay on this Nova build in the meantime.
  9. Started the design of the chassis. Took a while to get this base designed, researched the SFI spec closely and tracing the inside of the body, wheel base, engine position, etc. i think i have it nailed....if not ..well I’ll fix it somehow lol lol
  10. Ken took this pic today before he shipped out the body to me. WoW!!
  11. Ken is touching up a couple of things and hopes to ship to me this weekend. I'm going to start laying out a chassis jig which will hold this in place, I need all the help I can get since I only have two hands. I have an alum plate and some pressure clamp arms that the jig & fixture world uses on coordinate measuring machines to hold work. I'm going to put a couple slots horizontal which will hold a small block with a 'v' or a half round in it so it's adjustable, I know hard to envision, Hope to have something to show in a week is life doesn't get in the way.
  12. Final clear coat is done.
  13. Final clear coat is done.
  14. One last coat of clear and some polishing and Ken will be shipping it to me. Looking forward to getting the cage laid out when it arrives
  15. Dave, saw your 1:1 build on facebook, looks killer!!!
  16. He found a picture of a grill and modified it in a graphic program. It’s a decal
  17. Thanks everyone for the great comments. Ken Shreve did a great job on the paint for me. I can't wait to get it home and start laying out the chassis, pressure is really on me now to get a chassis worthy of carrying this awesome body.
  18. I’ll just leave these pics right here ( mic drop )
  19. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. A few hours of taping and 10 min of spraying silver lol
  20. This build will take a couple years. I'm building a 1:1 64 Malibu SS right now as well. When the cage gets completed and it gets home this model will sit while I'm assembling the real car.
  21. Yes we used that car for the paint scheme. The peril in this paint is amazing
  22. Scratch the chrome idea, might play with some silver on the trim, we'll see. Did some edge work and some clean up.
  23. I think I'm going to do some chrome on it, hope it's not the wrong decision. Planning on some evil eyes for the headlights also
  24. Just finished pulling the tape and done with paint, still need to color sand and do clear.
