  1. I will post a picture when I get home from work. She said she has no idea how many yards her box was. But she could haul 18 tons easy with her tag axle. It had twin aluminum tanks on it. The picture she has found is not very good either.
  2. So safe bet what would be a good choice of truck to use frame from.
  3. Doubtful it was a Cummins, She said it was definitely blue. The italeri is not the correct version it is the longer hood version. The Louisville cab is correct. My LN 9000 had 6v-92 or 8v-92 silver bullet not sure which Detroit so I they had them. Thanks
  4. So my wife wants me to build her a model of her dump truck she used to drive. It was a Ford LN 9000 Tandem axle dump box. She doesn't remember what engine it had but I am guessing it was a Detroit as she said it used a lot of oil. My LN 9000 I used to drive had that engine so that seems a logical choice. Hers was a 1995 non air ride suspension with a steel box. So my question is what is the best combo of kits to use to get there? Obviously the Louisville race car hauler as a starting point, but what other tractor for the frame and rears would be a good choice? I have posted in the resin sub forum for the Plaskit LN 9000 conversion from them. Thanks
  5. In search of Plaskit LN 9000 conversion. Any suggestions? My wife wants me to do a model of the dump truck she drove. Thanks
  6. What about the rubber straps that keep battery boxes closed and hoods closed? You could do a set with Freightliner Peterbilt & Kenworth styles in 1/24.
  7. You have to have them on a photosite like photobucket or flicker
  8. Anyone know when Huck bolts started to become used in truck frame construction. It's been hard to nail down. I am pretty sure it was in the mid 80's, but google has been of little help. Thanks Tom
  9. Hi all. I am asking for help locating pictures of the trucks of the company I once worked for. It was a trucking company called Roseway Inc. they were based out of Des Moines Iowa from about 1981- 1992 or so. It was a total flatbed operation. Truck color was burgundy with a rose on the door. I have located 1 picture on Hanks truck archive. I have a few photos that I can find but nearly all my photos were of the loads I hauled. I apparently never thought I would want to build models of those trucks today. Who knew. The fleet consisted of mostly Freightliner FLC's both styles with the Peterbilt stem headlights and the later molded in fender headlights. Peterbilt 359's and we had 1 Kenworth K100 with the big bunk. Later we got the Peterbilt 377's and 379's. I was there long enough I was in every single model at one time or another. I know it's a long shot but hopefully someone has some somewhere. Oh and we were confused with J.H. Rose all the time but they were out of Texas and not any part of us. Or alternatively where I could post this to have a better chance. Thanks Tom
  10. Ok the closest I ever came to killing someone. This was 99 or 2000. I was heading west on I90 in South Dakota. I just went under an overpass and saw 3 vehicles coming down the ramp to get on. First was an older local utilities power truck straight truck of some kind with bucket lift, you know the type. Second in line was a car don't remember the make or model like Toyota Camry sized, driven by a woman. Then a pickup truck was last in line. I was hauling drywall I think to rapid city. My tractor was a 98 Kenworth T600 only a year or so old, pulling a 48' flatbed right at max gross, which is normal for wallboard. I as a courtesy got in the left lane to let everyone on, speed limit I think was 70, my truck so I was running that + most likely, I usually do limit +5-7. I am watching everyone coming down the ramp and of course the old utility truck isn't very fast so I don't have to much concern about anything with them. But apparently the car behind him did because as soon as they passed the end of the gore section she darted across it and the slow lane right into the fast lane right in front of me. I saw her, she never looked 1 time to check traffic. I immediately hit the brakes hard and started putting rubber down on the highway grabbed the airhorn cable and let her rip. The whole time saying oh F..k oh F..k I had no where to go the median wasn't an option she was to close. Anit-locks are doing their job I was slowing fast but still gaining on her, oh f..k oh f..k, closer and closer I got to back of her car thinking at any moment we are going to make contact. I got so close to her ass end that she literally disappeared from my view for a fraction of a second. Then her guardian angel must have woke up from his or her nap and saw what was going to happen , as her acceleration just started to increase over my deceleration and she started to pull away. I am not kidding when I said she disappeared in front of me. I was able to get off the brakes and get back under power. I looked in my curbside mirror and saw the utility truck and the pickup driving down the shoulder of the interstate they saw what was going to happen. I could see the utilities drivers face and he was like I can't believe that just happened. I then went from oh s..t mode to pissed off mode. And went on the chase took me a bit to get back up to cruising speed then into warp drive, but I finally caught up to her and pulled along side she wouldn't look at me or anything, so she must've at least realized what she did. I didn't want flip her off or anything I wanted her to know how close she was to dying that day because she was in a hurry. I stayed right beside her for a few miles she finally exited the interstate and looked up I pointed to her and then held up my hand with thumb and index finger together mouthing you were this close to dying today. I think she said sorry or something, could have been f..k off I don't remember now. Things happen in an instant and you have to decide sometimes in the blink of an eye if it's gonna be you or them and control what your reflexes do.
  11. I am down for 1, Finally can do my own ride. 2001 W900L at the dealer 0 miles.
  12. I know the first one I had there was the stem style for sure. New guys always get old trucks. But I seem to recall that my second one was considerably newer and would have been an 85 or 86. Then after that I had a 359 Pete then a 378 then a 377. The last two were brand new. Thanks Tom
  13. What year did Freightliner switch from Stem mounted headlights like on the Peterbilt 359's to the fiberglass moulded into the fender design. I for the life of me can't remember if one my last Roseway Freightliners trucks had them or not, I seem to recall my last newer one I had did but not sure. Thanks Tom
  14. I am in need of photos from the mid 80"s of trucks from a company based out of Des Moines Iowa called Roseway Inc. I used to drive for them and would like to do my trucks. Problem is I never kept anything with the logo or took any pics of my tractors from the outside. I have found 1 pic of one of our FLC's on Hanks truck Pics( http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/macneil/p5a/rose_way_frtlnr.html) but that is it. The company went out of business some time in the early 90's. Any help is greatly appreciated. It's one of those things I regret now but never thought of then. I really liked my 359 I drove. I also did time in an FLC or 2 and the new 377 & 378 if I remember correctly the 377 was the last new truck I drove for them. They were an all burgundy colored fleet. Thank Tom
