  1. Very Nice Build!!!!! Saw Butch Mass run the car at Great Lakes Dragway Union Grove Wisconsin. Lil John Buttera (Builder) was helping the team sort the car. Lil John was a long way from his shop in Cali but just a few miles from his home town Kenosha Wisconsin. Great two part read on the history of this car on NHRA's web site. Always loved that car but it was evil. jwrass

  2. MCM, All I can say is AWESOME!!!! HUGE Bruce Larson fan back in the match race days of the 70s (Great Lakes Dragway Union Grove Wisconsin) Soon I too want to build a B.L. car. I Have the Heavy Hugger Revell Funny or the Model King Camaro to start as a platform. I have multiple decal sets for different cars B.L cars. I also want to do a Professor Kelly Chadwick build. I love the bread twist tie, I use those as well I think they work great!!! I will be watching this with much anticipation. What is the green material that will hold the 9"? Again VERY VERY NICE

  3. To All: Check out the latest Elapsed Times Magazine Summer 2014 ( A Quarterly Magazine Published By Car Craft) A nine page article titled VINTAGE HOOPLA. This is a must read for anyone building drag cars from the 60s-70s. It is a history of who and how drag wheels came to be back in the day. I personally found this a great read with some awesome pictures of some of the cars and stars of the era.

I get Elapsed Times Magazine as a subscription (1/4ly) when it comes in the mail I dig right in and read it cover to cover. It is devoted to retro drag racing with many great photos from the Car Craft Archives.

Check it out!!!! I hope you find something useful for that special build!!!!

    Cheers jwrass

  4. To All: After a 30+ year hiatus from modeling I'm back at the bench!!!! Although I haven't built for awhile I have a fairly large collection of kits that I have purchased over the years with the intent of building again. My collection is mostly race cars with a big portion of open wheel and drag cars.

I am amazed at the amount of detail and parts available to make that special build. When I was a kid the best we could do was raid Moms sewing box to detail engines and the like.

As a side line business I have been doing Kustom Paint, Fabrication, freehand pinstriping and lettering for some 35 years. For those who live in the Metro Milwaukee area you may have seen my work over the years, my handle is "RASS".

I look forward to learning and sharing with this awesome modeling community.

    Jimmy "RASS"
