Monogram Paint Instructions.

You are right but I see so many beautiful Nascar's on here and think I might just do things different than the instruction sheet. -

Kodak Nascar

This helps. I live not far from a Auto parts store that has a fantastic selection of touch up paint. If they don't have it I am sure they will order it. -
Kodak Nascar

Thanks for the tip. I will try and get wheat land yellow if I can. Never really thought about the possibility of the black interior showing through. Thanks a lot. -
Kodak Nascar

Wow a split decision. So the choices remain. Thanks for the replies. But I am leaning towards paint. -
I am building the Kodak Nascar and I have not built anything in years. A question I have is this. This kit is molded in yellow it appears to be the same or close to the Kodak color. I think regardless of the color I should paint it in order to get a more realistic finish. Your thoughts would be appreciated. This kit is proving to be quite a challenge for a first time in years.

Wow thanks for the tip. I am going to go to the dollars store and mix some up. Nice to know the shelf life is long when mixed.

Will Acrylic sheets work the same?

I have been following Chris Chapmen on U tube and I am sold on Acrylics. I have used them in the past for details and small parts but never sprayed it. Anyway I have 52 bottles that were over 15 years old. I had them in a box stored in the basement. I took them down and out to the garage. I removed the caps scraped off the dry paint. I found that the paint had separated and the pigment was on the bottom and a glue like substance was on the top. I made a mixer for my Dremel tool and started to stir them. What I found was after about 1.5 hrs I had 51 bottles ready to go. Only one bottle did not survive the years. I know that because I was able to rejuvenate this paint is because it was stored in a cool place. I would recommend storing Acrylics in a cool area. 15+ years and all is good Now I just have to get up the nerve to spray my first body. Just thought you might be interested!

That will be a nice project. It would look great without fenders.

Did not know what to call it so I guess Gasser will have to do. Back in the 60's a friend of mine raced a 57 Ford on the dirt track. I helped out where I could in the pits but Maybe I just got in the way. Anyway this is not a Ford But a Chevy. Wanted to make a dirt tracker but the Slicks were the only tires That made any sense in the parts box! The reason for this build is I bought 20 Muscle car models at a Garage sale for $20. A great deal. There was a box of parts and a couple of unfinished models. So this is what I am trying to do. Please fell free to comment on what you think I should do now.As you can see I have cut the tail fins back.

Glad to see that somebody else has seen this. I thought I might have had some issues that might have required minor brain surgery. I have a load of spare Decals I will try it out. I just wish I could remember where I read it.
-
Has anybody heard of Vinegar being used for Decal substitute? I read this someplace and can't remember what was said. Any thoughts on this or something that will work for Decals!
-
I have exhausted the o ring route. Checked Home Depot and a plumbing supplier. Nothing to be found! I would buy the spare ones from you. If you would like to sell them PM me. Thank you

I have this model and on opening the box I discovered there are no front tires. Everything else is there except the front tires. Anybody have an Idea where I could get them.

Thanks for the great replies. I am going to do some kit bashing and other things maybe a Dio. or two. One thing I will do I went into a speed shop many years ago and they had cars under construction. They also had a very large showroom with wheel nuts to air cleaners. I think a Diorama would be neat of such a shop. Some people are under the impression that I would like to get rid of them not so. Some feel Nascar Modeling is dead again not so. Check this out. http://randyayersmodeling.com/modelingforum/index.php Thanks for the replies.

Great response thank you.

What makes you think I want to sell them. I really don't need the money. I am going to be joining an IPMS group and will probably give some away to young people to give them a start in this great hobby. If you think there is no demand check this site out. http://randyayersmodeling.com/modelingforum/index.php

I like your suggestion doing ARCA cars. A little bit of imagination is all I would need. There are people under the impression I would like to sell them. Not the case at all, just want to get Ideas and I have a few now.
-
Thes are good ideas. I can make my imagination do it's thing.
-
These are all good Ideas.

He would only sell them all at once. No big deal for me except the space to store.
