  1. WOW!!  You jumped back in with both feet!  Quality to go along with quantity.  Thanks for your write up - I to have been idle since my early teenage years and am hoping to have the time, steady hands, and adequate eyesight to jump back in soon.  When I do, I know I'll never get 18 done in a year, but hopefully I can replicate the quality you've shown on these.  I especially like the Quaker State bird (always liked that paint scheme for some reason) and the black Charger.  Well done on all of them sir!!

  2. There is some drama with fitting the hood, also a good bit of drama fitting the frame to the cab with the interior tub in place during final assembly. I had to heat the interior tub at the floor pans on both sides and reshape to give me about the 1/4 inch I needed to make it work. I honestly wouldn't recommend for a first time glue kit. But I guess that depends on how old your son is. The kit is good subject matter though.

Understood Tim, thanks for the heads up!

  3. Outstanding build and tribute to Davey - well done sir! I've got 2 of this kit and 2 of the earlier white/gold/black kit that I've been hesitant to build cause I want my skills to be up to the task of making them great. I became a nascar fan as Davey was coming to prominence and he quickly became my favorite. Always smiling, always pleasant - but also a fierce competitor who wasn't afraid to lay the chrome horn to anyone. Not ashamed to say that of all the movie stars, rock stars, racers, people of notoriety, that have died in my lifetime - his was the only death that I broke down and cried over. Excellent build - thanks for sharing!
