Work continues. The floor pan is painted now, I'm quite happy with the red- It seems to match the wagon's color between wrecks #1 and #3, which was the look I was going for. The chassis also rolls now, and will look better one I have the pan installed.

Minor update: I have the rear tires installed and the steering put together, unfortunately I dropped the engine and have to glue some velocity stacks back on.

Sorta reminds me of the Roadkill team's "Rotsun" a 240z with a 4.3 liter Chevy and a power stroke turbo unit.

Kowalski would be proud... If it weren't for those pesky bulldozers messing it up.

Well here's my first attempt at building a drag car, and I've chosen to start with Bill Maverick's Little Red Wagon. I started building it yesterday and am really liking how it's turning out.

I knew that, I meant this one, the one that takes out the Ploughboy when the driver is killed.

I like this build already. I'd like to see someone make the Ploughboy 'Cuda from Fury Road as well.

Road Boss
Sparkhead42 replied to Sparkhead42's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Got some more work done, progress is slow as I got a job last week which has taken up some free time. I have the frame complete and all the tanks installed. The battery box has been detailed and the engine is finally in, courtesy of some custom mounts. -

Here is a photo of my inspiration for the paint. The next town over has a W&LE switchyard and the main line cuts right through my town. -

Finally got back at it today. Frame is almost complete and engine fit looks ok, hopefully have it installed later this week. Battery box is also done, just needs minor detail work. -

Thanks Dan. However, I've probably gotta pull that front engine mount, the frame is bent and I can't fit the engine when the member is in, hopefully the engine and suspension will straighten it out. -

Another update today. Frame is painted, found a good orange to use instead of yellow, got the small tank put together. I'm also including a picture of the finished tires. The suspension parts are going to be red, just to break up the monotony an all orange frame could bring. -

Minor progress update, tires are done and the frame is primered, I think I'm going to paint the cab and frame yellow, with the hood and sleeper in flat black. Also are there any good pictures of what the cyclopac filters looked like on one of these, I'm thinking about fabricating one. -

Not quite sure yet, I wanna have the sleeper, and I have some matte paint leftover from another build -
I got a model today and thought I'd share the build. It's a White Road Boss, here's all the parts laid out.

What thickness styrene do you recommend if I wanna scratch build the dump bed?
-
Thanks Jim, definitely gonna look into the Kenworths. My local quarry uses a fleet of KWs and I thought I'd build a truck using their paint scheme
-
Thanks guys, I really appreciate all the comments. So question, anyone know a good rig to turn into a dump truck?
-
Thanks guys, I'm planning a project that will combine both my love of mopar and bigs rigs in an unconventional sense

Thanks for all the tips guys, I'll definitely be using these techniques on my next build. And once I'm good enough at this kinda work I got a big project in mind to truly test my skills. Does a Mad Max style rig with four mopar big blocks tied in with a cummins sound interesting enough? -

So any ideas on engine work? I.E. wiring, plumbing, detailing -
Here's some pictures of the first rig I built, all in all I spent a little over a month on it. It's a bone stock AMT Diamond Reo painted Lime pearl. Tell me what you think.
