  2. Okay so I am new to acrylic paint so I bought lacquer thinner in the store and just got my shipment from Hobblinc and notices it says acrylic thinner. I thought lacquer thinner was supposed to be used with acrylic paint? So which one am I to use with Acrylic paint. I thought all Tamiya paints we're Acrylic paint except for spray can. Thanks for the help Karl

  7. Hello, My local hobby shop closed up shop and at the moment we only have Michael's which is a joke for models section. We will be soon to get a Hobby lobby. Any ways I have been forced to go online for my stuff. A member of our model club suggested Hobblinc so I have put two orders in and it taken for ever for them to ship. Is this a common problem with them ? Is Squadron better at shipping out quicker? Or am I demanding of to much as I have been a Amazon customer and well two day shipping is the normal. Thanks

  12. This will be my first attempt to build a bird so this will be interesting. The parts are in hot soapy water right now.
  13. So I like only using enamel paint. So I buy the 1 gal can of thinner and when I try to pour it in a smaller cantainer like quart chemical beaken like you use in a lab., it makes a mess. So I trying to think of a 1 gal container like a gas can. But I don't think that would be a good Idea unless I paint the gas can. I wish these mfg would put a breather cap on their cans. Any suggestions wish the made a bendable hose with cap that would fit right on the can. That would work nice too. Thanks Karl
  14. This is a bunch of BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH you should be able to post it how ever you feel like. You get 10 people here from the forum and take them to a art studio I bet you could not get them all to agree what pretty picture is. By God the moderators need to step up here and tell all those sissy whiners to be quite. If you don't like his picture move on!
  15. yep I livein Redding it gets hot. +1 on the R30 insulation.
  16. Hello all, Well since I have been getting into models I am really thinking of building my own shop/ shed. I also do woodworking, so trying to share a garage with the wife's car, washer and dryer, freezer. I am really feeling the squeeze. So I am trying to decide if I should build on large shed and combined wood working and modeling in one shop or two smaller sheds. The heating and a/c would have to be doubled with the two sheds but a bigger shed would be harder to heat and cool.. If I was to build a small shed for modeling I am looking at 6 foot bench say 3 foot for spray booth (9 feet of wall). So if I go with a 10 foot x 10 foot that should do it. right? plenty of storage for kits and plastic totes and stuff. I would only have a small walk through door. So I would not lose any heat/ cool air. What do you think about a 10 x10? I see a lot of you guys crammed in to small spaces. As it is now I have to walk across the garage to paint. Where the booth is set on top of my table saw. Any ways thanks for all your suggestions.
  17. that i why I asked cause there is light tan, dark tan, desert tan,.... then there the greens thank you I guess I will chose one and hope it a gooAVG Image Shrink & Shared fit .
  18. Hello, I only have a Android phone and tablet. I do NOT have a computer any more Do you know if there is a app to resize pictures in inches? I went to Google play and there is a lot of companies that do it but only in pixels for sending them in emails and such. Any ways I want to print my own waterside decals so I am trying to figure it out how to do it on a smartphone. When I hade a PC I could do it in "paint" and if I want a decal 1.5 inches it would make it so much easier rather then guessing. Thanks for all the help.
  19. Hello, Re: kit Revell 1:32 Bristol Beaufighter Mk 1F I am new to modeling and this is my very first plane I am doing. Now the colors they want me to use is is a lot. A couple of them require mixing. Now looking on the Web I see a bunch of different paints used. I know it is all different from country to country and also where they were used such as pacific or Europe during WWll. So many variations of tans and greens not sure what ones to use. I will be using Model Master enamel paints. So my question is: What colors could I use that would look good without doing mixing and such. Thanks for the help
  20. won't it take my enamel paint off?
  21. Hello. It don't look like they make acrylic. So if you use enamels on your build how is one clean up the spots that are left after you applied it? Thanks for the help
  22. Never mind I found the cross reference chart that Revelll paints for Testors
  23. Hello I am doing my very first plane which is a Revelll Bristol Beaughfighter Mkll so looking in on the page for paints I see it has some mixing of paints. The mixing don't concern me to much an know I can come close. But what concerns me is the colors like Lufthansa blue satin matt? Fiery red silky Matt and there is a call for sea green Matt. I am going to the hobby store tomorrow and see if The Testors paint stand has these. QUESTION: doing military models should I be using a certain brand of paints geared towards more for bombers and such? I think places airfix and maybe Squadron might be a better place for these paints but not sure that is why I am asking . thanks
