  1. The president thing is where we started to lose it. I think , we , as a nation, group of people, hobby,or what ever , do have expectations of people of fame, people in the limelight, people that are put forth by the media on a pedestal. Weather or not these same people chose to live up to these standards, which they themselves have set, weather or not they had intended to or not, is the question.
  2. "If you can't say sumpin' nice, don't say nuttin' at all." wouldn't be much on the board.
  3. My first thoughts, even before scrolling down and seeing someone else saw it too, was ' Oh boy! Another great build from John Teresi." then in the first detailed picture the missmatch between the belt and pulley jumped out at me. My thought : " Oh no. John, you've done it again." I must say, another great build, great detail, but the missmatch does detract.
  4. and of course we all carry lighter fluid when we're "out on the trail"
  5. Great build Dave, Wouldn't you like to see more of that on the show? I understand Pauley Perrette (Abbey) is really an anti car person, green to a point.
  6. I got out some old kits, 1930 Coupe and and older version of the Blue Burrito and discovered Ooops one is a '28-'29 and the other '30-'31, the fenders are different. However all of the running gear is the same and interchanges. Basically the stock engine drops right in with a little work on the front cross member to return it to a more stock configuration.
  7. John has made a few miscues before. The Tee Bucket with the greatly detailed four speed transmission with the Highly detailed "automatic" transmission shifter comes to mind. This was highly debated here as well.
  8. Wow! Is right Greg, great story. And the AMT 1928 Model A molded in pure Unobtainum.
  9. on the belts, http://cs.scaleautomag.com/sca/modeling_subjects/f/31/t/68401.aspx?sort=ASC&pi209=2 page two speaks to this matter. I've also seen the methods J Morrison mentions.
  10. My first car was a Model A , can't say you missed a thing. Bob's correct in that you can't tell the real car from the model. Now that's modeling at it's highest level.
  11. From Mopar Max : http://www.moparmax.com/columns/magnante/vi_1-1.html
  12. I wonder how the Blue Beetle / Blue Bandito matches up with those older Monogram kits, stock parts and all.
  13. They'er all the same kit "Monogram" (1929 Model A hot rod roadster pick up.) with slight variations in engine and tires. There is no Stock or Roadster (other than the roadster pick up) variations. Yeah, "same group". The "Revell" kit, as stated above, is a different kit all together. Great review John, none the less. Thanks.
  14. Was there a stock version, or are you thinking of the Revell release? Two different kits.
  15. Lots of work involved. In reality the two in the kit are more than 75% complete. Best thing might be simply fill in the void.
  16. I keep hearing of two possible builds, a "Truck" and a "Hot Rod". What's the difference ? They both seem the same to me.
  17. get some stickers made up.
  18. Sounds like you're on your first ride alone with your brand new drivers licence. Congratulations.
  19. Now that IS a BAD one.
  20. Six Twos and a double set of front axles and rear springs. and it's a "log" type manifold, so you can cut it and sand it to fit just about anything.
  21. Being a shop teacher, and having some smart ( ) students from time to time , I too, have used this prank, untill one day . . . Me to another student:" You put the vacuum hose with the boots on the coil?" Student: Looking in amazement, as was I, as the "Pranked" student drove off unaffected. "Yes." Turned out the vacuum hose was dirty and thus the spark carbon tracked right through the hose allowing the car to run fine. ( well, for a students car)
