  1. WOW!!! I couldn't tell that you added a Starliner roof to a Galaxy body! Nice job!!!B)

Thank you. I hope to finish this one as soon as I get the '65 Galaxy I've bought on Ebay. I'll use its interior. My inspiration is George Poteet's black one. I'll post a poictaure of that one as soon as I can.

  2. I'm currently working mostly on two projects. The first is the long stalled '40 Ford convertible I call Bluestar. I have actually been making progress. I'm working on the door latches and interior door panels. The latches have been a real challenge. I'm giving up on trying to make it to scale. When I do, it's too fragile. It'll still look okay.

I recently began work on a '61 Ford Starliner. I've put together a '61 Galaxy body with a '60 Starliner roof. The galaxy is an old styline kit. The major work is almost done. I am proud of the results.

  3. I have, in the past, owned two 1-1 88s; one a '49 torpedo back, and the other a '50 Holiday coupe. The latter was particularly classy looking, with 4 or 5 chrome headliner braces from side to side across the inside of the roof.

I have recently bought two resin versions of the business coupe; a '50 and a '49. The former is almost done, with a blown 394 out of a beatnik bandit kit. The resin kits are based on the diecast banks, so they are nicely proportioned but poorly detailed. I am building full detail into them. I am using a stretched '51 Chevrolet as a chassis donor (the Olds is 5 inches longer ahead of the doors). You can build a Holiday using a Belair for the top.

  4. Fisher makes Kits of the Chaparral 2E and F, but not the D. As has been mentioned Monogram made a Kit of the 2D Daytona version (a Curbside or Slot Car option kit) as did Modelers ($$$). Modelers also did a Sebring Resin + Plastic version (again $$$) along with a Nurburgring/LeMans ($$$) which has just lately been repopped and released by Fujimi and can be for ~$60 with shipping from HobbyLink Japan.

IMC and repopped by Union made full detail kits for the Chaparral 2E that if you shop and take your time can be had for <$50 + shipping). I'm not aware of an Otaki Chaparral 2D Kit that I know of (they did release a 1/28 scale 2H).

I have the Union Kit from "The Memorial Collections". It's in 1/25, which is handy if you want to use a different smallblock Chevy engine. I haven't started it, but it looks very fiddley.

  5. I have begun work again on "Bluestar". You may remember it as "Fordoni Y Fallacy". I renamed it a more dignified name(G). If you remember I have sectioned and channeled a '40 convertible. Its engine is made from two smallblock Ford V8s, making a (duh) V16. I will bring more pictures as I make progress.

I will take it to NNL West next spring, along with several others. I have gotten my building mojo back, thanks to George Hernandez, among others.

  6. Welcome back, I dont think I have ever seen any of your work so Id like to ask what do you like to build? That way I can keep an eye out for some of your stuff.

I build everything from traditional rods and customs to sports cars and road racing equipment. I currently have a wild 40 ford under construction.

  7. I originally had planned on a Lemans scene, but I have now changed my mind. George's gift will be the centerpiece of a rich man's collection of toys. It will include the helicopter, a Ferrari and a Porsche. Maybe I'll include a deuce or two. The Hughes 500D will use a white/yellow/orange/red fade paint job (if I can pull it off).
