  1. I didn't know that car but your right! Love it
  2. First time building this kit, only messing with the body for now. i decided to cut the window moldings out and shave the drip rail off, literally my first time ever cutting into a model. I had to sand and re-prime about 4 times because the lines kept ghosting through, definitely learned a lot though. Im happy with the results, but now I'm stumped, I painted it satin black so I could try a polished or brushed aluminum finish on top, but now I really like the satin black!!! Let me know what you think. I did not use Tamiya primer as pictured, I used Automotive Touchup sandable primer spray can, it worked great and sanded so smooth. This was my original Inspiration, but I got some thinking to do now.
  3. First time ever doing a decal this big and i'm satisfied with the results, but it was really tough to get it to lay down flat. Thankfully I had some micro set and micro sol to save the day, amazing what that stuff does to decals. Also got some interior work done, i love the race seats but they are lacking without a harness. Building will be coming to stop soon though, still waiting on my clear parts from revell.
  4. love it, can't wait to see more

LOVE the stance and color! What did you use for primer and paint?
  6. Thanks, I filled out the request, 4-8 weeks for delivery IF they are in stock, fingers crossed
  7. Thanks a lot to everybody, it means a lot. Real bummer happened today though. It took me this long to notice I was missing ALL the clear parts!! How could that happen?? I'm looking at the pieces on the directions and there is no way they were in the box when i opened it. I'm still somewhat new to models, got 4 complete builds under my belt, and some in progress, lessoned learned, Always take an inventory at the beginning of the build!
  8. Decided to go mostly box stock on this, I only added a wired distributor and possibly wiring the battery cables. This is actually my first time trying to wire an engine, and i even followed the proper firing order,I'm happy with my results. I only wish I used a different color than gray, like red or something. The body was sprayed with Tamiya fine surface primer, and the finish color is Testors one coat lacquer "Mythical Maroon". Obviously the trim needs to be painted and some clear coat also. So far this car is actually keeping me motivated to finish it, hopefully more pics soon. n.
  9. Thank you, I do plan on buying another one and doing all the decals, the way it should be, but now i will have 2 sets of decals, just in case.
  10. Decided not to use the decals on this one ( I do plan on buying another one to use the decals ) So I painted it using Vallejo acrylic primer, and Vallejo metal colors "magnesium" as the finish. The metal colors are a breeze to airbrush and I'm only a beginner. Only thing I did wrong was not use the metal colors gloss varnish. I'm pretty happy with the outcome, some minor body imperfections I should have paid better attention to and other picky stuff. The kit as a whole was an awesome kit, fitment was great and minor sanding before priming. Enjoy
  11. thanks for all the compliments everybody, it's keeping me motivated to finish this one
  12. Decided to test the interior color, once I sprayed one seat I filled up the cup and continued the rest of the interior, I think the color is perfect, also got a nice 4 coats of Tamiya X-22 clear on the body, fingers crossed it will polish out nice.
  13. Thanks! First I painted the exhaust using Tamiya X-31 Titanium Gold then I used the tamiya weathering kit. First coat i used the "burnt red" on the spots I wanted stained, then came back and used the "burnt blue" right on top of the red for the desired effect.
  14. quick update, clear coat is going on the body soon, suspension and exhaust done. This is my first time using the Tamiya weathering kit on the exhaust and I am very happy with the results
