  1. This may sound dumb but where do you guys get those engine stands?
  2. I am working on this model as well. I too was not impressed with the side draft carbs detail. I have two kits because I messed up the first body with some Alclad Candy Red that looked just way to anodized and plastic looking. I grinded down the tubes and am going to look at a couple of stores to find some super short metal tubing and then add something to create the trumpets. What was it that you added to make the trumpets on your kit? It looks great so far I am definitely going to be following this thread!
  3. Thanks! Thanks! I am grateful to even have the use of my hand, let alone all the mobility I do have! Thanks, hopefully the trolls stay gone. I don't mind some creative criticism, but some people just want to watch the world burn. Thanks! Tis but a flesh wound!! Thanks They did something to my hand with the carpal tunnel nerve to help with swelling pressure since it was a crush injury. That carpal tunnel nerve modification hurt worse then the break itself, I can only imagine having surgery just in that region alone I am hoping to go to that Hobby Town store sometime this week. I hope the store is a bit better then their online store, talk about hard to use! We used to have a pretty decent model and train store in Arizona City but sadly it closed. I have been using Hobby Lobby and Micheals for things I can get right now but it would be nice if there was a store that carried Tamiya paints and had a better selection of foreign car models. Don't get me wrong I love Mopars, Chevy and Fords but sometimes you want to work on something like a Mercedes, Jaguar, Toyota, Mazda, and Honda. I hope to be able to go back to working on 1:1 soon. I bought a 93 Mazda Miata to restore as inspiration to get recovered. I am pretty confident and determined to get better. At least with scale models the price is way more affordable but you can't drive the scale version when completed. Thanks! Thanks! I got a Revell Mazda Miata kit for Xmas this year I hope I can get the skills here to make a 1/24 scale version of my 90 turbo miata I built. I kind of want to build an A-10 warthog. That plane is my favorite plane, nothing cooler then a plane built around a gun! Thanks I hope to learn a lot.
  4. Hi everyone my name is Mark. I used to build models (not very well) when I was a kid and have picked up the hobby again. 6 months ago I was injured at work and had my dominant right hand broken pretty badly. I shattered the knuckle on my index finger and had the muscle forced out of my hand through the webbing between my thumb and fore finger. When I was going through physical therapy the therapist suggested that I do things that would help rebuild my dexterity. I built a few Lego models, played a lot of video games, and decided to pick up building scale models. I have made a pretty great recovery my hand works pretty well now, not like it used to unfortunately but that part of the recovery is up to me to get right. I like to work on real cars before my accident. I built a 90 Mazda Miata with a swapped 1.8 that is now turbocharged, and I now also have a 93 Mazda Miata that I am going to do a restoration on (no turbos) once my hand is fully recovered. I have been a lurker here for a few months. This site is amazing in the fact that the negativity is down to a minimum, everyone seems really nice and very helpful. I have been on many automotive enthusiast forums where this is just not the case. Although many in those sites are helpful it sometime can be rife with trolls. I look forward to being a part of your community.
