Built this a couple of years ago. I could not wait to attempt this project however, this took forever to finish. Started off as the snap kit but as time progressed, parts from the AMT and Revell 359 kits were added. Thanks for viewing!!!

Peterbilt Large Car Cabover
extmcdriver posted a topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
As you guys can notice, I have been posting away. Still have a long way to go though. Pictured below is another Pete 352 cabover. It sports recessed exhaust and lots of scratch building. Again with this project, no resin at all. Under the cab is the famous Cat motor from the snap Pete conventional. Thanks for viewing!!! -
This was my first attempt at cutting down a Pete sleeper from 86 inches to 73 inches. Coupled my cut down cab to parts in my stash, and here you have it. Nothing special, just an good ol' work truck. Thanks for viewing!!!

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well. This is a Ford Tractor made from the Race car hauler that was re released last year. Mostly box stock minus shortening the chassis, etc.... Thanks for viewing!!!

Here is another modified California Hauler I built 6 months ago. Tried to backdate the kit to the narrow nose Pete. The sleeper is skinned in chrome tape from an auto parts sore. Easy to use and lots cheaper than the hobby brand that we are all familiar with. Nothing resin on this kit, all plastic! Thanks for viewing and I appreciate everyone's comments.

Peterbilt California Hauler

This has to be one of the most favorite kits for us truck modelers. I was more than happy to buy a few of these as soon as they hit the shelves. This truck was built after looking at the many versions built by Tim. This was built about a year ago. My goal was to try and capture what the old 359 would look like after mild customizing. Hey folks, this is my rendition of the famous Movin' On Kenworth. I built this about 8-9 years ago. The engine is actually a Cummins VT903 taken from the old International 4200 series from ERTL. The torsion bar suspension was from an EBAY glue bomb, the rest is from the parts box. This project took close to 3 months to complete and last but not least, the decals came from JBOT. Thanks for viewing!!!!

This my attempt at trying to model a KW T600 based on the old AMT kit. After reading numerous articles on the kit shortcomings, this was still a fun project to build. I can not even try to remember all of the modifications to this kit. This is a combination of the snap kit and of course the AMT kit. No matter, this was fun, from start to finish. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Thanks, I appreciate your comments!!!

This is my second post, now that I have half way figured out how to post pictures. This project was inspired by Tory who posted this type of wrecker a few months back. I remember building this kit as a kid, many, many years ago. After the re release of the California Hauler, this project was a must. This is pretty much box stock with a few odds and ends that we all enjoy adding. Thanks for viewing!!!!!

Thanks, stretching is not hard, just time consuming when it comes to sanding!

OK guys, the is my first post on this site or any other site for that matter. I must say, the work I have seen here is outstanding! All of you guys have serious talent!!! As I am a rookie at posting, it is time to take the plunge. This is a Pete 352 that I built a few months ago. The cab has been stretched from the 86" sleeper cab to the 110" big bunk. Other features include; reworking the battery box, adding a turbo to the Detroit motor, dual air intakes, and various other odds and ends. Hope you guys enjoy!!!!!

Hey folks, I am Rick and feel great about finally joining this great website. I have been building truck models and a few cars from time to time over the last 30+ years. I am retired from the Army where I was a tanker for 27 years. Like most of you, I get great joy from model building and spending time using my hands and imagination creating something we can all enjoy. I look forward to posting some of my projects and getting feedback from everyone. Take care everyone, happy building!!!
