  1. Thanks very much. The racing one is pretty slick too - do it! And yes, this thing is TINY! I'm wondering if I would even fit in the real life version lol!
  2. Thanks! No, they were never officially imported, but there were a few examples brought over over the years.
  3. Very cool 60's metal! I have an old Johan 64 Caddy Coupe DeVille I need to redo. If only I could do it half as nice as your Olds!
  4. So neat! Love it!
  5. Hello folks... So it's been a loooong time since I last completed a model and with my kids getting to the age where they can do them, I sort of got bitten again! My last completed model was probably 20-25 years ago! My, things have changed but so much has stayed the same. My patience has gotten a lot better I can tell you lol. This kit has a lot of firsts for me. From bare-metal foil to Future shine to making seatbelts, it kind of turned into a test platform for all kinds of new stuff! The kit itself is a 25 year-old Fujimi kit, lots of fiddly, tiny detail parts that tested my bad-word filter many times. The body I actually painted probably 20 years ago, but the rest I just picked up like I never left off... Anyway, enough with the chit-chat and on with the photos! I hope you like! The box was a little beat up but did it's job - everything was still in there! Please don't mind the orange peel (I realized after I had it mostly assembled, I could have cleaned it off and started again. Oh well, next time!) Bare-metal foil window frames and door handles (first time for me on that stuff!) Hard to see, but the instruments are all decaled. Very basic attempt at some wiring under the hood, just for practice, and just visible, seat belts... again, firsts for me. A little retro shot. Such a neat little car. They don't make 'em like this anymore. I hope you enjoyed. And if anyone has any pointers or techniques to share, I'd love to hear them! Thanks for looking!
  6. Thanks. Yeah I'm a car guy too but every once in a while, I used to find a subject that interested me and I'd go nuts lol. And of course, my boys are all about fighter jets right now...what 10 year kids can resist 'em!
  7. Hi there! I've been reading this forum a bit and I'm amazed at some of the builds. So awesome! You all have inspired me! So, it's been a while since I enjoyed the hobby (or even had time!) but I am slowly getting back into things for a couple reasons: 1) My boys are the age to start doing their own models and 2) I have a few kits, some started, some not, that I want to finish. A recent trip to the Museum of Flight inspired me (and the kids) to start building again. I have some pretty ambitious lists of cool planes I want to attempt. Many historic aircraft, some civilian, some military. Of course, the boys want to do fighter jets The one I'd love to do first is the Boeing 80A. A gorgeous airplane from the dawn of the airliner age! Some works in progress: One of my son's first planes, the F18 with son number 2's Blackbird yet to be started. My work WIP... an odd subject and my first attempt at Bare Metal Foil and also using Pledge/Future for shine...looks pretty decent I figure! Another WIP. Another obsession of mine. This model I started over 20 years ago. The paint was horrible. I just finished repainting the hull completely and I'm starting to attack the rest. Yikes! What a kit this one is! And a few car kits to be done... Thanks for looking! Hopefully I can keep updating with progress without boring everyone with my substandard skills! lol
