  1. Looking for fellow modellers from Connecticut
  2. anyone from Connecticut?
  3. Kevin I know exactly what you mean building "my favorite car" for other people. I am 67 and started modelling again 6 years ago after many (probably 50) years and love every moment. The model car world has definitely changed in both number of manufacturers and quality of the fit. Much better than years ago, or it was probably me being sloppy as a kid! I live in a small CT shore town of 4,000. There are 3 hobby shops close by but I get most of my models on line because of the variety. I also stash models away as I am sure everyone does, but I will build them. My wife thinks I need an intervention!!!. I dont have nice work space in my house so I rent a beautiful studio in an old barn close to my home. It also serves as my get away place. Enjoy the best hobby in the world. If anyone reading this is from CT and may like to start an informal club along the shoreline, I have the perfect spot. mark
  4. I guess you are far away. Been to Netherlands 3 times. last trip was a bike and barge trip from Bruges to Amsterdam. I will take a picture of the studio and post it mark
  5. My name is Mark and I live in Westbrook, CT. I have a beautiful studio in an old barn where I do my hobby. If anyone who reads these forums and lives in my area, I would like to hear from you, Maybe we could start an informal club or just get together and work on our models Mark classicpianohdwe@aol.com 860-997-3221.
  6. As a kid model cars were my favorite hobby our local hobby shop had 2 contests each year. I always got second and my best friend got first. Then girls came to be more important. 50 years passed and I couldn't think what to get my son in law for his birthday. Then I thought since he is a formula 1 fan ,I would make him a model of his favorite car. I built a 1/18 scale ferrari f1 by Tamiya. As you said the modeling world and products has changed. I'm hooked again and love it. My wife thinks I need an intervention!!. I agree, super glue is great. My favorite part of the build is the painting. I also build 1/10 scale r/c cars by tamiya. If you never have try one. You will love it. Keep building! Mark
  7. My name is Mark. Has anyone else waited a long time to renew the love of model building? I would like to share your thoughts on how things have changed in 50 years
