Thanks for the replies. I picked up a Ross Gibson hilborn injected Hemi (not sure if it's a 426 or a 392). I also may have a RG hilborn injected SBC to use, so it will probably be one of the two. I picked up the Hemi for the little red wagon, but I may use it for this.

Here is my newest build, a Henry J. I have been looking for this kit for a while and finally got one. The kit is a little rough, so it will take some work to make it look good. The motor in the kit is not very good so I will use a different one. Maybe the injected Hemi from the Lindberg Little Red Wagon or an injcted small block chevy from the AMT 63 Corvette. I also need to think of a cool 60's gasser name to put on the door so that I can get some decals made up. Suggestions? This one will have as much detail as I can put into it including wiring, aluminum parts, etc. Here is the body in primer in front of the box. Here is the 2 piece fender glued together, it needs more putty. Here are a few pics of the body in 2 coats of the new Testor's laquer pink and one coat of clear. Thanks for looking.

Hey there, I'm starting to build AMT's 1935 Chevy modified, but I'm having trouble finding good reference pics. I need some good pics of interiors, guage panels and seats in particular. ALso, I could use some pics of the engine and how it is mounted to the chassis. Any help is appreciated.

Here's an update. I got some paint on the body along with the custom decals that were made at Sparetime Hobbies here in Winnipeg. I decided to go glossy for the body so I'll probably just brush some future floor polish on the frame, or I'll just leave the frame semi-gloss (opinions?). I still need to put another coat of clear on the body and polish it. I also made a few more parts. Sorry for the blurry pic. From left to right: piston shifter, brake booster, finned oil filter. Thanks for looking.

Winter is here...and it sucks
Kyle replied to VW Dave's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
LOL you guys are lucky. Here in Winnipeg it's -32 Celcius (~-26F) or -45C (-49F) with the windchill. That's cold for us in December. -
Thanks. For the velocity stacks I use a product from k&s. It's aluminum rod that is bored through the centre, but has thicker walls than their aluminum tubing. I just machine it down to the right diameter and then add the fins. Then I part it in one long section and cut the tapers at the tops with a razor saw in a mitre box.

Thanks for the replies. The front tires are the Firestones that come in a lot of AMT kits. I think these ones are from the 36 Ford. The rear tires are from the AMT 70 BM Camaro, I just turned them around so you can't see the Mickey Thompson logos. I know the car you're talking about Dennis. I'm loosely basing this car on that one. It won't be a replica though. Here are some better pics of the magneto and pulley system. I also added the carbs and velocity stacks.

Here is my '32 Ford in progress. I used the Flathead from the '32 Sedan and added MCG heads and Strombergs and the R&M Co. S.C.O.T. blower. I turned all of the aluminum pulleys, the magneto, starter, drive shaft, gas cap, hub caps and beauty rings, and used aluminum tubing for the bumpers. The paint is Model Master olive drab with semi-gloss dullcote over it. Thanks for looking.

Thanks. Mine will have similar decals to this one, but it will be a solid green colour. http://www.benlevy.com/4images/img357.htm

Thanks, It should be done soon, I just need to paint the body and wait for some decals. I also have to get the wheels on and make a valve for the nitrous tank.

WOW! That looks awesome! I love the old/new styling. The hand grenade was a great choice too. Where did you get the springer front end?

I got a little more done on the viper this week. I put together a roll cage (still might add the overhead bars), turned a fire bottle and nitrous tank, completed the dash, seat and finished some engine wiring and plumbing. Thanks for looking. Engine: Interior:

Thanks. Does anyone have any ideas for sponsor decals?. I was thinking SRT, Mopar, Sparko, Brembo, and BF Goodrich. Any other ideas?

Here is a 2006 Viper SRT 10 that I have been working on. I'm going to make it into a drift car. I'll add a full roll cage, custom decals, spoiler, custom intake, nitrous, pegasus rims and a fire supression system (anything I missed?). This is the engine so far. I added ignition wiring, fuel rails and injectors, throttle linkage, a turned aluminum oil filter and pulleys. I used a detail master electric fan and rad support. I also turned a brake booster and added some lines to the engine bay. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the comments I'm getting a 32' ford grille with a 6" chop from Model Car Garage. It will hopefully be here today or early next week.

Great job on the Impala! I love those super clean builds. Nice wheels too, where are they from?

Here are the pastel colours that I used on my Phaeton. Any earth tones would work. The darker ones are the ones I used the most, but the lighter ones come in handy too. Just grind them up into a fine dust and brush it on using any paint brush. I find that a stiffer paint brush lays it down a little "messier", so there are streaks, and a softer brush blends it really nicely. If you apply too much you can also blend it a little with your clean fingers. I applied it everywhere except for the tires. Make sure you weather the lines as well (fuel lines, ignition wire, etc.) I read somewhere that you can use dullcote over the pastel to seal it in, but I've never tried it.

Thanks, did the ones from the first post show up too? I was going to use a mexican blanket for at least one of the seats, but I couldn't find a good pattern online that i liked. For the dash I just drilled out the guages. Looking at it now, I think it would be cool to have some wires coming out of the guage panel.

That is very cool. I love the interior, especially the rolled up rat fink poster. The mesh in the air cleaner is a nice touch as well.

Hmm...the pics come up for me. I'll try again. Ok that should work, I resized the photos and followed the tutorial using photobucket. I tried it two different ways. Let me know if they come up.

Here is my latest completed build. It's AMT's '32 Ford Phaeton. The engine is a 389 Pontiac with 6 strombergs, an aluminum magneto that I machined, solder headers and machined pulleys. I scratchbuilt the floor and interior panels out of wood. It is still waiting for a grille that is on order and I have a moon style tank with a brass cap that I made for it. Thanks for looking. I hope this works...kinda new at the photo thing. Here is a wheel that I am working on for my next build. I machined the hub cap and the trim ring on my lathe. Not really sure how the pictures got all pixelated....I'll try to post some better ones later

And now for something different....WIP 52 Chevy

Excellent Job. I wish I could do bodywork that good. I like the inline 6 as well, what kit is it from?
