  1. Bryan This was a main concern of ours as drivers...At what point does the frame loose it's strength? When doing "Paving" you are almost always on level ground...Delivering aggregate, you can twist these trucks beyond belief! Jumping ditches and footings they creak and groan. I always wait for the loud bang when the frame breaks! Tim,sorry to Hi-Jack your thread.... Jeff T.
  2. Nice! Werner has always had some classy looking trucks. Going to love seeing this one all done. Jeff T.
  3. It's all about tonnage when it comes to these trucks... Super 18's can go out the gate at 80,000 pounds. My Pete's empty weight would hover around 30,000 pounds. Most are capable of 25 tons with a clean box...The new Pete's that K&H are building use a new smaller/lighter pusher system and the new "Maxle....are capable 26.5 tons. Clicky for Maxle... They have shaved a lot of weight off these trucks. My guess would be the "Inverted Fish Belly" is one way of doing this. Jeff T.
  4. Tim I hope this isn't to late.... Pushers We call the center axles "Pushers" on the Super 18's and Simple 16's we have at our company. The truck backed into the "Paver" is Super 18...You can barely see the "Strong Arm" peeking over the top of the box in back! Jeff.T
  5. Tim E-mailed him also...Prices are the same as on his web site. Now I have to justify the 387 and T2000 to my wife! Unfortunately she still doesn't understand the meaning of "Must Have." JeffT
  6. Les Are these "Both" still available from them? I have been wanting to do both of these! Jeff T.
  7. Soooooo......That is what a little part of heaven looks like? You look like you had blast! And thank you for always providing us with excellent reference photos! J.T.
  8. Nicely done Tim! I surely do love your work...Attention to detail and photography is fantastic! Jeff T.
  9. Tim.....Thank you. Your help is very much appreciated. Now the cutting begins! Sorry it took so long to thank you.... Jeff
  10. Tim; First....Your site keeps me busy...Thank you for work you put in to it. Now, if you can help a Kenworth person make the transition to the "Dark Side"..... Based on your photo's of the 388/389... High cab... 389 Low cab... 3892 Are they based on this cab? low roof high roof I'm using the body builder manual drawings(PDF) from the main Pete site for a little project. But your pictures make documenting a breeze...I'm just lost when it comes to all the new models! The 388/389 look so "Sweet!". Tim any help on the cab issue would be great. Jeff T.
  11. Thanks Dave. I've been all over his site.... He has got some great reference stuff there! Heres a pic from the web.... Some major body difference's from the "800". They kinda look like a Pete "386" I did some work on this....I found an owner/operator that allowed me to measure his open hood. And I came up with 4' 11" from the back of the hood to where the grill starts. I even went to the local Kenworth dealership! They guard this stuff as if it was "Tippy top secret!". He had superb drawings on his computer....Something he called a "Data-Book", but it would not allow him to make copies? It had all the dimensions you could ask for! I'm going to keep plugging away as long as I can. JT
  12. Hi guys. I need to know how much of difference there is between the cab of the T660 and the T270/370 series,Dimension wise. I understand that the sleeper figures in slightly to the 660.....But overall arent' the cabs basically the same? And if any one knows how long the hood is on the T660, from grill to fire wall? I'm trying to use the information on the KW web site to see how close everything is for a conversion. Any help would be great. JT
