Hello,
Just bitten by the desire to build a modern day big rig.
Did you ever release either the Century or Columbia?
Thanks

That's great!
I got here by looking for rear mounted bicycle racks for 1:24 scale cars.
I want to mount the 1:24 scale IXO 1959 Mobilette on the rear of my Heller Renault 4CV.
I was thinking that if the driver went on holiday to one of the medieval towns in Brittany or Normandy with narrow and steep winding streets he would be smart and use a gasoline powered bicycle for the Summer.
Thank you for the inspiration

I need a few of them if and whenever they make them.
I built the "Vegas" issue in 1985 and painting that grill on the hood scoop was a real chore.
The photoetch sets should include a set of portholes and a detailed method of measurement to accurately bore out the holes and place them.

I can see that this is LATE!
But, I did disassemble the 2007 and reassemble after personalizing.
Motor Max 2007 "Law Enforcement And Public Service"
In black.
I swoped the interior and grill, with another Crown Vic, removed the push bars, covered the Gov'ment plates and mostly rid the build of those Way Too Tall tires.
I found some nice tires in my parts boxes to better compliment the 9 spoke wheels, I sprayed the replacement grill with Spaztix Chrome, painted and detailed the dash, steering wheel, inner doors and radios, scratch built the added analog beacon from parts, added a PoliceCarModels.com wig wag on the package tray and added 2010 N.Y. plates from BestModelCarParts.com
I have a nice NYPD customized Detective figure I call "The Fleece" to finish it with, including a detailed patrol bag and vintage emergency helmet too.
Just have to slap some color on them.
First pic is the stock item.
I found it easy to add or remove whatever I wanted from this diecast to suit my tastes, to answer your question.
I have another one that I only changed the wheels on, it was easy too.

That is so true about cats. We have three and we also have elastic bands on all our kitchen cabinets, even the pair over the refrigerator. I, too, keep the door to my model room closed at all times.
Rascals!

I've just found one, expensive, but I've wanted to build one in tribute to my two years living in Honolulu (Fall '74 - Summer '76)
Thanks for posting your pics, because I wasn't sure if this kit had the 454 badges on the hood.

8-Track Player! Haven't seen one of those in YEARS!
I can imagine this car playing Gordon Lightfoot's "Sundown" which came out in the middle of that year. Hughes Corporation "Rock The Boat" would sound pretty good too!
Anything that was played on Casey Kasem's American Top 40
"And coming in at number one this week..."
With the song's intro playing in the background
"with his third single this year to climb to the top spot; Barry White with You're My Everything"

Thanks fellas, I have to check my facts, and my eyes...

I need a few sets to use on some '56 Chevys which I'll build as NYPD patrol cars. I've searched through the AM manufacturers and came up with nothing. Anybody know of a source?
Did you get what you were looking for?
I wish I had of read this post when it was new, because I am sure I have the smaller doggies in at least a couple of kits.

I thought the only kit that had the 1956 Bel Air "full wheel covers" aka hubcaps, was the old Monogram kit, which is cast in the larger 1/24 scale.
Are you guys saying that they actually made some of the fulls in 1/25?
I was so disappointed not to find a set of these in the Revell/Monogram 1956 Nomad kit.

If they re-issue that 67, I hope they still have the Stock Hubcaps No One offers anymore
I have the 70's Street Machine issue I started to restore.
I am kind of tired of only the 5 spoke Mag's in almost all MoPar kits lately.
(Though, AMT did replace those with Ralley's in the 70 Challenger kit Johnny-Lightning re-issue!!)
Edsel D,
Did you have any luck finding any new '66-'67 Charger hubcaps/Wheel covers?
That's what brought me here, wanting to maybe use them on a new build.
I did find the unchromed resin cast '68s at Fireball Modelworks, but I would like to try to get the older ones to see which I like the best.

I really like the "stance" on yours.
Looks realistic.

Thanks Ace and Mark.
I displayed mine on an engine stand next to my stock 1941 Plymouth coupe that I "copped out" with a long antenna and the driver's police spotlight from the Heller "Magpie" police Renault 4CV kit.
The car was glued with Testor's and just recently fell apart and was added to a parts box, but that engine is still intact!
Sorry to hear that about the Ala Kart reissue, I had a friend that waited and waited to either find one, or for it to be reissued.

I have two also.
The first of the two, was just a matter of finally getting lucky and getting through on the telephone, as soon as I saw it on Tom and Jill Carter of Hobby Heaven (Spotlight Hobbies) newest listings back in the late 80's
And the second one, a real glue bomb (but it's all there) was a gift from my friend Bill in Peoria ILL. that just showed up unexpectedly with the mail one day back in the early '90s.
I'm looking at restoring and building the "Glue Bomb" before year's end.
Factory stock with a slightly lowered stance (of course) custom Frost grey with white coves, blue interior, Alberta plates, and a Edmonton Oiler's equipment bag in the opening trunk, for that 1980's pseudo '50s-early-'60s look.

That's why I love this forum!
I built that very same engine stock, painted it Model Master's Chrysler Engine Red, with the raised type and ram in white, back in 1987, and it must've been raided out of my AMT 1929 Ford roadster kit.
I couldn't remember where it came from...
Thanks fellas.
Would you happen to know what year and make of 1:1 Dodge that those motors showed up in first?

CLEAN!
Did those nice Bowtie hubcaps come with the vintage kit?
-
Tony and his wife are delightful people to do business with.
Getting ready to purchase some more items from them.

Best use of a "Campus Friend" I have ever seen!
Scooter and Volk's truck really nice too.
-
Terrific!
Especially that custom interior

All I can say is: the 83 Imperial that TKM did was worse than this. Imagine a slush cast body, sort-of K Car proportions in the middle body, with huge overhangs (and the attendant "nose bent nearly to the sky"), and not a straight line on the entire body.
To be fair, TKM was a very early entrant into the scale auto cottage industry (these were produced a LONG time ago), offering ambitious and interesting subject matter.
I did speak to the owner on the phone once (this was before I actually received my Imperial ), his heart was definitely in the right place...he had a passion for the work and the subject matter. It would have been great if he came along now instead of the early 80's and tried to do these in 3D...
I remember speaking to the TKM owner also.
Around 1984 - 1985 I think.
Yes, very nice person to speak with and he had an extensive catalog, he even had a Greyhound/Trailways Scenic Cruiser in 1/25 scale!
I ordered one of his 1946 Chevrolet Fleetlines.
I still have the catalog, and the unbuilt Fleetline.
As for "Mr T" and his Air-Trax offerings, I have his 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, and it's very nice.
I have the earlier more challenging issue with the bonnet needing to be scribed and broken free, but I understand that he has added another body option by having the bonnet molded in place.

Not quite. I over fill the indentation with super glue. I then sand it down with a sanding stick. When you just sand bearly through the BMF, you know you are on the edge, so no trimming required, but it takes a delicate touch to sand it just enough.
I don't understand, but I will practice it to visualize the trick.
Thank you

Trim as close as possible.
Depending on the thickness of your paint, the edges of the foil can show through if it is trimmed too wide.
Steve
I understand that.
Thank you!
