  1. All great tips ! Thanks. Yes I find priming, sanding , inspecting with magnification, filling and keep repeating seems the way to go. I find my hardest part is on curved surfaces.
  2. Yes, but I still seem to miss them. Curved or joined parts are the worst.
  3. After or during priming and getting ready to paint what is the best was to cehck for imperfection . They are always amplified when the finish or clear coat is on. This is especially when you are doing some body work with putty. Any thing you guys do?

  10. Hi,73 years old and have worked on cars all my life. Retired from the US postal Service Vehicle Maintenance Facility in Miami after 33 year. LOVE RETIREMENT ! Also worked for Harvey Crane at Crane Cams when they were located in Hallandale Fl in the 60's. Still love fast cars, present car is a 2005 Crossfire SRT6 (supercharged if you are not familiar with the SRT6) . Has been tuned, smaller supercharger pulley, custom made dual Cold air intake. Surprises a lot of people Did some drag racing in the 60's and started building models when I was about 10 years old. Started back building in spare time in January 2020 and loving it ! So far I only have 5 builds but have purchased a bunch of kits so I got "The Bug" bad !
  11. Just needs some decals or stickers for Toymakers group. The ToyMakers is a group of retired men and women who for over thirty years have donated their time and talents producing handmade wooden toys for distribution to hospitalized and needy children.Over 400,000 toys have been given to many organizations dedicated to the children in need. We make the toys using scrap wood along with paint, wheels, and dowels for axles. We are a 501(3)(C) non-profit group who's members volunteer to make the toys and receive no monetary compensation. The ToyMakers home base is in New Port Richie, Florida. Currently over 20,000 toys are made annually and distributed to hospitals and organizations in and around the Tampa Bay area. We here in Tavares (Royal Harbor community) are a satellite branch currently making toys for hospitals and children's facilities in the Tavares/Leesburg area. We are currently distributing toys to AdventHealth Waterman hospital, Ronald McDonald house, Children's Advocacy Center in Leesburg, Guardian Ad Litem in Tavares, and the Tavares Fire and Rescue department. I've included some pictures of the toys we are making here locally. The red car is called a Corvette and the green car is called our Race Car. As you can see, the toys either have painted graphics or stickers like the numbers shown. What I am looking for is preferably 1/2" to 1" stickers or decals that are car related such as Mobil One, Sunoco, Hurst, STP, or anything you might see on a race car. I can use a stickers larger then 1.0" and those I can put on the tops of the cars, but preferably the smaller stickers. Anything you model builders can donate would be wonderful. I would also ask that if anyone in your group can make a suggestion as to what PC software they might recommend I can use to print stickers would also be helpful. Thank You Ralph Esposito

  15. Just sprayed a body with a Pearl Wicked Color water base paint, first time I used it. Question is as it is water base I need to do a few things to it before I clear it. When I am ready to clear it can I wash the body in soapy water before I spray the clear, in other words is it washable with soap or will that damage the paint job. Thanks !
  16. Hi all, I have one of the portable Airbrush Spray Booth With LED Lights, fits my needs perfectly but wish there was a way to be able to just have the lights on and the fan off. Guess it would need a 3 way switch. Anybody did this to theirs ?? If so how did you wire it and what switch did you use. Thanks
