That’s cool to see your development work Gary. Now are you going to put some payload on it or leave it as it left the dealer?

I’m going to paint models with colors I have in stock rather than what colors I would like to paint them. Fortunately I have a lot of stock but mostly grays and reds.

Nice build. I like older F1 cars and this is fun to look at.
gray base FTW.

Car looks nice! Is that the boss man coming in late to catch up on some paper work ? He drives a nice green machine.

Nice model I like it! Never saw one built and was great to take photos of the interior before final assembly.

After that I look back and there's all kinds of open hiway behind me and there is solid wall of big rigs blocking all three lanes and the traffic is backing up behind them. Where's a Highway Patrol when you need one.
The "professional" children are some of the worst drivers. I won't go into it but we all know how formation driving works with these clowns, then speed up when past the other truck....

I was entertained yesterday. First, the mail woman couldn’t get up the hill on our unplowed road. I went out to help and knew where to quickly shovel as the snow drag was stopping progress. She backed up and got a run. Made it halfway. I asked her if she could do the exact thing again. She enthusiastically answered “YES”! I shoveled a little more. As you can see from the “other shot” you come downhill on dirt into a 90 left then uphill. She backed it halfway up that hill and nailed it and had it sideways and opposite lock with the throttle punched!!! So cool to see as she made it up to the top to deliver the mail! Attitude baby! We exchanged stories and off she went.
then this clown gets stuck down there. Didn’t want any advice or help. Didn’t want water, hot chocolate or coffee. Fine. He called a service crew to winch him up the hill.
Good all ages entertainment from the comfort of our home. 🤪

I use it at times when I need a part to stick on, and I can adjust from there. Larger parts that is. I use it for the wheel/tires on say, monogram stock cars where I need the car to set right and adjust the wheel alignment. Let sit overnight and boom…..

Welcome Gary, looks like you found the right place. We build a lot of stuff, and talk a lot of model building stuff. Don't know how we find time for anything else.
Spent some time in Cadillac back in the day. Really nice up there.

Wow thank you for the fast reply! I will order one tomorrow. I will have to mod it a bit but hey, that’s modeling!

Does anyone know of a model kit or resin piece available for the aluminum block V8?
Need one for my TR8 project.

I am liking this build. Very nice.

What two types of surfacer are u using, and reasons for the dark gray?

A little bit of progress. Got some paint on the cab. This old bottle of Testors was airbrushed on (really don't think I ever airbrushed a body before - always use rattle cans).
Got some primer on misc parts including the chassis. Kit has the usual amount of seams and flash, which I remove as much as possible.
I know a lot of you guys assemble the whole chassis then paint as one, but my concern is getting dirt and mud and grease everywhere in there, so I am doing some parts separately I guess.
I will provide a mockup of the parts in my next installment. It is a cold cold day here, and the Daytona 24 is gonna be on the tube all day so I expect some decent progress of this kit, plus my many other projects going on this weekend!!!

this is a nice idea. What are your rules for painting and such? I have this kit....thinking, but not likely I can join in. Just curious.
-
Pierre, this is going to be cool.
Oddly enough, tonight I was working on my Fujimi parts, just like you have and priming the seams. It is a bit unfair that I look at your work and want to reference it on mine. The wear and tear is very well done. Nobody but Penske has brand new equipment every week in the shop.
It takes a lot of time and effort I am finding out to get the parts ready for weathering....great job! I am working on the hoist and want to make it look old and used like the ones I used to work with in real life myself!

Looks awesome and built up like the real one looks too! Great improvement on the original kit with your building skills by far.

Ok. Sorry can’t help on either.

Twin Superchargers! Awesome, that's gonna be one fast machine. I like the way you hid the transmission under the blanket. Must be super secret that you can't share with us, right?
Man, those are some nice rags for the rear traction!
