  1. Wow that would help so much! my set is all cracked!
  2. Hi everyone, Looking for some Son of Ford decals. I have a set that are damaged, and I have a reprod. set that I picked up awhile ago that aren’t the best - they’re a bit undersized and the registry is not the best. Does anyone know of a source? Or have a set they could scan in high resolution for me from Which I could make some new ones?
  3. We’ve had the Royal Rail and the Li’l Gypsy Wagon… so just missing that one!
  4. Based on that price at Spotlight Hobbies one may well argue it’d be an absolute money spinner for Round 2🤑🤑 - of course the market is a lot more nuanced than that! @Dave Van I love what you did there with those conversion parts! I’m sure with your talents you could convert a Depth Charger or Flameout. Whilst I acknowledge what people say about needing to recover the costs of the run etc etc it does seem to me there is a market. Like I said previously, it seems Round 2 have re-released almost all of the AMT showrods in the last 10 or so years. Just recently we had the Gypsy Wagon, which probably has a similar market appeal to the Koo-Koo-Kar. So what do you say @SteveG? Is this still a potential future release? I reckon @Dave Van and I would buy at least 0.5% of a run between us.
  5. Was perusing the contents of my Round 2 AMT ‘55 Corvette and stumbled upon the ‘09/‘10 Round 2 catalogue. In it they list AMT727 Koo-Koo-Kar as ‘coming soon’ but alas it would seem it never came. Whilst not to everyone’s taste, for us fans of AMT’s Corvair-powered show rods this would be heaven-sent. I can’t imagine it would sell any better or worse than AMT’s other show rod offerings, which have been re-released pretty regularly over the past 10 or so years. So the question is: would it be ‘cuckoo’ to continue waiting, or should I just accept the need to sacrifice an organ should I ever wish to own one?
  6. … come to think of it… I think the wheels are also shared with the ‘Fireiron’ showrod one other feature of note - the Son of Ford also has the pre-SBC ‘smooth’ bonnet, not the louvred one that monogram tooled up when they got rid of the poncho.
  7. Thanks for the replies and encouragement I actually do have the wheel back on (snapped axle) and some new decals for it. I also have some in 1/8 to do a GRAND Son of Ford… one day The differences that I am aware of our wheels and tyres (shared with the Tijuana taxi) headers (unique) Moon tank tacho injected Pontiac (shared with the ‘early iron’ series roadster) roll bar (unique) and there are holes in the seat back to accomodate it There are no holes above the boot for the chrome soft-top ‘rests’ It also shares the smaller headlights and lower light bar mounting position with the original little deuce 33 years later, it still remains at the top of my favourites list - the box art can’t be beat!
  8. Arghhhh you’re killing me. I have one on the shelf that I helped my dad finish when I was 5 - it was my gateway drug - I wish I had the box and literature for it
  9. 😞 Thanks for bursting my bubble 🫧 These things are few on the ground in Australia… I was hoping there might be a few more hiding North of the Equstor… perhaps not
  10. Hi all, Looking for a complete (preferably sealed) Monogram Son of Ford kit Hopefully someone out there is interested in parting with one
