  1. Kit builder and basher from the early 1990's till this day. Current projects: grumpys 72 Vega (street conversion), 60 ranchero custom build, 79 Monte Carlo (90's street build/ family car)
  2. Thanks guys looking at the revell dark blue metallic custom 56 ford pickup truck pictures, its a manual as well
  3. For you guys who posted on this Ranchero build would anyone be interested in a custom cast frame when it's molded out, I'm looking at a 4 link mod, bucket seats, possible console addition, I just ordered a kit to bash a front end assembly for it, might also include and engine and transmission option as well? Just looking to see if its worth production.
  4. Probably gonna kick a dead mule here, but did any of the kits with a 292/312 come with a manual transmission behind it?
  5. So here's an update: digging through my current parts box, I'm going to take my current lump, cast it into a chopable heap, I'm going to mod in a suitable rear section, and what I feel would have been a period correct front suspension build. Then probably custom bash an interior pan.
  6. Yeah the 60 lump frame i have has no tank on it, didn't look to see if it's on a tree somewhere, that other frame pictured though, hell I could add thin strip styrene and make it like cell straps. That might be the best route. At least I wouldn't have to choose the bed out, or go into too much frame mods, thnx Brian for the engine info.
  7. Found the trumpeter 65 kit, bet it's a lump too, and it's outta stock 😔
  8. Mark, Rodent thanks also for the input, seems like the options are growing, anybody with a clean 312 without a rod through the oil pan I remember the one out of the I believe revell 56 Ford pickup from the mid 90's had one in it. Haven't seen one in a long time though so I don't remember the quality of the motor, those kits were fairly detailed skill 2 and 3 though if I remember right, I'm looking for one with a manual behind it since the ranchero interior tub has it a manual set up.
  9. FoMoCo66 I know the issues your talking about I remember the ones for those years I put together in the 90's and they always looked like the had wheel spacers in them
  10. Fat Brian, when's that comet gonna be on the market, I'd build a 65 comet purely to have one in my collection,I'd buy two one to build one to bash and part out
  11. NOBLNG thanks for that 1:1, thats a clean car. Wish I had that one without the 140, I'd like that with a 312 and a top loader or a tremec in it
  12. Thanks for rounding out the list, much appreciated 👍🏼 🍔🍟
  13. Good note, I'm not a fan of doing up lump chassis, I really prefer to build up of actual scale springs and their looks, too much modifications and I loose interest in a mechanic by day, so working on more mods kinda just burns me out. Ill peek into one of those soon. Was looking to see if some falcon kits would work but I think 64 might be too long, I know the thunderbolt kit had that 9" spring setup out back
  14. Anyone know what kits have a full build frame that's stockish but not quite pro street or funny car that will fit under the 60 ranchero as a kit bash, maybe light trim on front or rear valences to fit. Not looking to scratch build or completely butcher a mustang frame to fit. A quick search didn't bring me much in the way of returns here, so I thought Id ask the masses.
  15. Here's today's haul: Resin casting kit Krylon rose gold spray paint Testors brass Metalizer paint 2 pair forceps Testors thinner Extreme power thin CA glue Pocket razor knife Hobby tools cutting mat 12 pc needle files Helping hands magnifying glass
  16. Today I got in my Monza 2+2 model, I am going to use this kit to cast resin pieces to kit bash another model I already have. Kit ended up at around 30-40$ on eBay: crazy prices for model car stuff these days.
  17. Yeah thanks straightliner, I'm up in the air on what I want to make my molds out of while I'm waiting on the kit. I have a few options from really cheap, to high dollar. It's really gonna come down to what I got money wise and how bad I wanna get that frame cast. Definitely ready to get into it now though, may be an engine project or two with the resin too once I get the frame done ??
  18. Yeah I think I'm gonna practice making resin parts when my 2+2 kit gets here, I want to make the full AMT chassis in resin and only part of my MPC plate in resin then combine them to fit the 72 Vega body, will do the frame chop on a resin mock up as well as a resin drive shaft mock chop. I don't want to give to much away on the build up want to put it on the WIP board.
  19. Gseeds send me a mail on here man I'd like to commission some art work and see what your prices are.
  20. Price on some stuff:rediculous, waiting for good stuff to come along: an eternity, molding your own: priceless
  21. Thanks again straightliner, it's appreciated. Now more people will understand this topic. The other thing to shortening that frame would be to shorten the drive shaft just a little. Would be interested in seeing someone do a cosworth Vega that would be interesting. I'm still on the fence on how much I want to spend on an AMT piece. I can't believe the price of kits these days, I used to buy these things at Walmart, k&b, and eckards for 8-10$. Even ebay is asking alot.
  22. Ouch, wish someone would do some of the obscure stuff man, it's a drag when you wanna build something and ain't got the stuff you want.
  23. The old Buick specials to 64 had the 215/300s and the wildcats small blocks were 340s right?
  24. What is the best kit to get a modern Buick small block (350) and non turboed buick V6 from? Any of the buick kits com with a standard tranny?
