  1. Welcome to the forum Hank. Jealous of your 'first Car'. Mine was a '64 Buick that kept eating fuel pumps and front ends. When I traded it in for my 1971 Beattle, the dealer had to send a tow truck to the barracks on base to take possession of it! I swear it was running when I visited the dealership the previous day to make the deal!
  2. David, welcome to the forum. Lots of good folks here sharing a wealth of good info. As an aside, the best summer job ever back in high school was setting tile & laying linoleum flooring, etc. Boss's daughter was a cutie! LOL Jim D
  3. Welcome to the forum, congratulations on your contest win. Thank you for your military service! Jim D. USAF
  4. Ricky, did the Schlitz come along before or after the PBR contract?? Let's both show our age LOL!! Fellow USAF vet Jim D.
  5. My apologies if this has already been offered up...Always smile, Many will appreciate the positive feedback, the remainder will wonder what you're up to!
  6. Peter, thank you for your reply, Jim D.
  7. Peteski, I see you are using Print White as a command. What printer are you using that prints white? Thanks, Jim D.
  8. When a part goes flying into another dimension, I too worry more about getting back vertical than getting down on the floor. I also employ a trick I learned early in my radar maintenance shop days in the Air Force. Use a bright flashlight at a low angle to cause the dropped part to cast a shadow or a reflection from those chrome bits to help make the lost part more visible. Of course, this "cheat" doesn't work as well on a carpeted floor as it does a hard surface. Oh Yeah Jim, that is a killer 40 Ford! Love it! Jim D.
  9. Bart, Thanks for the reply
  10. Beautiful job! Did this start as a kit?
  11. Yeah, lately I have been looking through the WIP category and have only gotten through the first 45 of 700+ pages LOL
  12. Really great result, Jim. The added side trim really reinforces the two-door visual. First quality execution on a well thought out design plan! Jim D.
  13. Bart, while I haven't used any of the spray products yet, I do have on my shelf a 1/72 scale F-86 Sabre that I foiled with BMF 20+ years ago and then applied the waterslide decals over the foil. It looks fine still with no lifting of decals, etc. I did not use any gloss coats on anything. I do remember the foilng process was tedious, but I love the results. Sorry no picture, my computer doesn't like downloading photos from my phone!
  14. Great Rod!! Lots of fascinating details. How did you do the chrome? Jim D.
  15. That would be my one and only stop in Montana! Jim D. in Texas
