  1. They were repurposed a lot after their Greyhound service was over. They were built like tanks.
  2. The kit is an F1. However, I opened up the fenders to accommodate the larger tires, matching an F5 fire truck, pictures of which I used for reference.
  3. Glad you could relate! We have a local restaurant called Earl Dukes BBQ. I only had room, as well as transfer lettering, to shorten it to Earl's. If you're ever in Orangeburg, SC, I'll buy you a sandwich!😉
  4. I suspect that it is. I bought it off of ebay, and the seller didn't specify its origin.
  5. I'm not far away, in St. Matthews SC. I used the name Lewisville because it was the name of my town up until the early 20th Century.
  6. Resin White COE cab, mated to a scratch built chassis, with rear section built from styrene. I still need to make custom decals for the sign on top. Also, I have a number of crates from a diecast truck, for which I need to create basswood sides for more realism
  7. 1/43 scale diorama of a Gulf station in the summer of '69. Scratch built structures, made of basswood. The "wall" on the right is plaster of Paris. The cars are AMT kits. The gas pumps, mailbox, newspaper rack, signage, oil cans and such are all scratchbuilt. The figures, from various sources, were modified and re-posed.
  8. A graphite drawing on bristol from a few years back
  9. A bit more than a year later, it's finally done!
  10. Battle-damaged, long forgotten remnant of the once powerful Galactic Empire. Rotting away on some backwater planet.
  11. This is a 1/25 scale Monogram '50 Ford pickup kit, converted into a volunteer fire truck. Other than the cab, everything is kit bashed or scratch built. The rear section is built from Evergreen sheets, tubing and strips. The large hoses are cut from coax cable, with scratch built couplings/nozzles. The hose on the reel is wire insulation, and the folded hose in the rear is folded cloth. The ladders are basswood and bamboo, and the axes have carved wooden handles. The fire extinguishers and front-mounted pump are scratch built, and the decals were custom made. The paint is Krylon Banner red, from a rattle can. I worked on it, off and on, for more than a year.
  12. As a gift to a good friend, I drew a montage of TV Tommy Ivo and several of his cars throughout his career. Tommy was kind enough to sign the original for my friend, as well as a laser print copy for me. I also did a drawing of the late Ohio George Montgomery and two of his gassers.
  13. AMT 1968 Chevelle body mounted on a modified stocker chassis, with scratch built interior and roll cage. Rubber padding on roll cage is insulation from a coax cable. The window netting is hand-made from masking tape. The front and rear bars are scratch built from styrene tubing. Aftermarket "Hoosier" lettering on the tires. The dents were made by heating the body from the inside with a soldering iron, then pressing into the softened plastic with a hobby knife handle. The clay is actual yard clay, sifted to a fine powder, mixed with white glue and spattered from a toothbrush. The second picture has a background added with photoshop.
  14. Thank you! I'll post more as it progresses.
  15. This is an unfinished dio of a small-town store/gas station as I remember from my childhood. It's in 1/25 scale. The building is scratch built from basswood, the car is a Re vell '48 Ford, and the figures are from American Diorama. I still need to add gas pumps and a few other details
