  1. to be honest it really hasn't been that hard, just eyeballing measurements and LOTS of trial and error. Ive been using Fusion360 for this project
  2. Here’s some more sketches of what I hope to do with the actual body as well
  3. Updated picture with everything assembled, next up to be modeled is probably the floor/interior
  4. Lower control arms, I still have to work out some tubing/bracing for these
  5. Upper control arms with some bracing
  6. Another thing I got modeled was the front suspension
  7. Close up of the exhaust in the frame
  8. Closeup of the headers, these were completely freehanded with no reference for the engine so I hope these fit lol
  9. Better pics of the exhaust pipes, if you look you can also see the mufflers I modeled
  10. The pipes have to snake up and around where the axles will be for the transaxle
  11. Recently I’ve been working on the exhaust system for the car because as long as it prints fine it will be a lot easier to just model some than to try to ruin some headers I already have, here’s the almost finished exhaust system:
  12. Sorry for lack of updates! I’ve been doing some more complicated modeling and been working on other projects so I have been taking a while to make significant updates
  13. It's actually super easy! the hardest part is buying the printer and getting good modeling software lol. I got lucky though, microcenter had a sale on a printer and my dad had a ton of coupons so I got mine for cheap and I take a 3d modeling class for school so I get super good software for free
  14. And the revised upper arm as you can see I added spots for coils to go on all arms, I gotta shorten the lower arms now
  15. Engine mount
  16. Here’s the lower arm and mount and what they look like on the frame
  17. Got more modeling done, I did the lower rear control arms, tweaked the upper control arms, made mounts for the lower control arms, and added an engine mount. here’s what the frame looks like now
  18. Thanks! To be honest, the modeling isnt hard it just takes a while
  19. Here’s the picture I’m using as reference for the suspension
  20. I’m working on the rear suspension, it’s going to be based off of corvair suspension, I figured I’d use that because it fits the time period, and was most likely widely available at the time
  21. I’ve now added a mount/subframe for the transaxle, here’s that and a picture of the full frame so far
  22. Thank you sir! make sure to click follow to not miss out
  23. Hell yeah brother! the build is also to honor a fallen friend of my grandpa, I was gifted a bunch of the guys spare model parts and will be using some on this build
  24. I’ve added rough 3D models of the upper control arms and narrowed the frame to fit them, the engine is snug but will fit
  25. My idea is to make up for the lack of the rockers I might try to fab up some sort of widebody side skirts that go up to the door, that might make it look cooler as well, the body is gonna get a half inch stretch also to fit the engine. With the stretch the wheelbase will be roughly .42 shorter than stock. my whole attitude towards this project is that I can’t possibly make the body worse, when you’re a broke teen you’re forced to get creative XD
