Great job and it goes without saying you don't see those everyday,

Great job. I actually like the stripe delete

It would have been nice to be able to do a conversion to a Super Bee. Maybe somebody will make a resin conversion, though that rear panel might be a challenge.

Great job on this 68.

So I am going to be gluing hood scoops on my 71 Demon kit and I have a black out decal on the hood. What glue should i use that won't destroy the decal and hold the scoops on ? Thanks

Fabulous build. Congratulations

Looking very good. I think I built this kit back in 1974. I think it might have been the coupe.

Randy I know you told me this before but can you tell me how you did your grill. I am doing mine right now and not really sure how to best do the outline around the area that the parking lights are in. I realized last night that there is no line definition on the grill surrounds. Thanks Dave

Thanks David for the compliment; in response to your question, I recall a couple of kitbashes of this kit being posted over at Spotlight Hobbies with lowered stances and big wheels and tires, and they looked killer! Best...TB
I will go over there and look, thanks Tim.

Other than Tim Boyd's great build I actually haven't seen another build of this 63 on our forum. Anyone out there building it?

Looks good. I am glad I am not building that!!! Lol.

Well my update after the weekend. I feel like I am getting the clear polished out and looking good. Probably looks as good as a 71 paint would look. Lol. I applied the Fred Cady decal Sunday. It needs a touch up in a few places but after 1.5 hours of working it I think it looks good. I think it looks better than the hood decal that comes with the kit. It is less glossy and it is the correct pattern. Being a decal that was made what maybe 15-20 years ago it didn't come apart too awfully bad. The soft set was a little rough on it as I moved the decal around especially those two raised areas on the hood of the Demon.

Beautiful build!

I notice the MCW is lacquer and the Scale Finishes is enamel. What do you prefer to work with?

Has anyone tried using the AMT Duster for the chassis/floor pan and driveline ?? I'm still waiting for my Demon from Hobbylinc !
I have seen a few people use the engine out of the 71 Duster kit which is a much nicer 340. I was tempted to use it but decided to do this build pretty stock.

Looking good! Since you are putting decals on after the clear, could you just dull coat the decals on the sheet before applying, and then cut really close to the decal? That way you would not have to worry about the Fred Cady ones. Just a thought.
I actually thought about that and wondered if anyone had success doing that. I also have a set of The Last Detail decals too.

Very good build. That bare metal foil job looks excellent!
