About Me

Never very good at this but here goes.

I started building models in the 60s, I remember wind up salt flat models and a Long John Dragster as being my first experiences. I continued building model cars and racing slot cars up till the late 70s when my wife (Janine) and I ventured into the figure realm and military models. There I became best known as Janine's husband, for those of you that have scene her sculptures you know why. In the mid 80s I took classes and managed to get a fine arts degree by 1988. I did a lot of commission and illustration work and had my work displayed in the Skys the Limit gallery here in Oregon. I lost a lot of my original automotive paintings in a bad flood that the gallery went under in. After that I mostly did military illustrations. This was all done while I maintained a day job of working as a technician at a dealership. There was very little spare time and modelling fell off for a bit. I did manage to keep my fingers in it a bitthough and kept the slot cars going. Beating Janine on the track is a challenge I must always meet.

Lately I have found myself returning to my roots and doing more and more automotive paintings and drawings and even have model car kits on my bench again. Not much to share as far as models at this point but hope to in the future. Still not much free time with a day job of managing a auto repair shop and doing the art. At least I have time to enjoy all the amazing work I see on this site and in my favorite magazine. Thanks Greg!!!!!

So just when do these so called golden years with all that spare time begin?
