  1. Thanks for the tip! Mine came out spot on fortunately. All I really needed to mask off was the pillars, decals cover the rest. I need to let the yellow cure then mask for the black down low.
  2. Laid some color down on my lunch hour. Having decent luck with Ace enamel lately.
  3. That would be awesome. These are not easy to find, cheaply.
  4. Well I'm waiting on decals for one build, it's too windy outside to work on the 1:1 race car, so why not start another build while I'm on a roll? Combining a Salvinos Flat Nose Monte with some Monogram DW '83 Pepsi decals to build the Monte he ran occasionally in 1983, like at Rockingham, where I first saw it in a YouTube video. Time for bodywork and paint! I'll photocopy the decals to get an idea where to mask.
  5. That makes sense. I'm bummed but not mad, I figure it was human error. Guess I'll start on another car in the meantime!
  6. I sent them an email. Hoping it's something silly I overlooked. They're the only vendor of this decal and I really want to finish it.
  7. Thanks! I've got a couple UV lights I used when I would whiten old Tonka parts, I'm going to give that a shot. Oddly enough, of all the models I used to build, this is my first completed NASCAR kit. I mainly built muscle cars and lots of slammed AMT Chevy C1500s way back when.
  8. I haven't. I'll look them up. In the mean ordered another set. For what it's worth the white actually covered fairly well.
  9. This kit was still sealed when I bought it, interestingly enough the Neil Bonnett decals look great. I opened the other kit up, also factory sealed, same thing. They came from different parts of the country too. Odd.
  10. I'm working on a build that required a decal sheet that came from a specialty vendor, that came as a sheet of the white parts and backgrounds, and a sheet of the colored parts. The white looked like it was printed on a clear sheet, and is very, very delicate. After ruining two of them I stopped. These are nothing like a kit-based set or Powerslides. Do I need to seal them first to protect them, and if so, with what? I ordered another set in the meantime, because I'm determined to finish it. They were from Slotcar Fever, if anyone has experience or tips I'd be grateful. These weren't even on my radar when I last built 25 years ago.
  11. Well, its ready for decals, but ive never worked with this style, and they're VERY delicate! I messed two up already, so I am walking away for now. I need to order another set, and research how to handle these aftermarket decals. No more of these two-part ones for me!
  12. Thanks! It was sold as the "Thunderbird Legends Combo" around 1997, came with two kits and decals for this and Neil Bonnetts #21 Hogdon car. It's been a fun build, standard Banjo Matthews chassis like all the Ford kits, and the body is pretty decent. I have another, plus Revell sold an Earnhardt Wrangler version in 1998.
  13. My first completed model in almost 30 years! Monogram kit built box stock save for swapping to the 10-hole wheels. Decals were yellowed and not great, so I may redo them, but for now I'm just thrilled to finish a build!
