  1. Awesome work! On that windshield - I reckon the more you make, the more refined you'll get! Its a perfectly respectable starting point for such a complicated part! I'm super impressed! Do you mind me asking what software you've been using to design this in? I've got a background in Graphic design, and I've got a fresh copy of Blender - just need the time to dive in and learn how to use it (From what I see, its a steep learning curve!) Any recommendations on where to start with this sort of thing?
  2. Such a clean build! Love the colour choice too! What type of paint are you using for the engine and accessory parts?
  3. Thanks for all the kinds words fellas! Now I just need to work out how to dust them properly before photographing! ?
  4. Whoah - Thanks for all the kind words fellas! Much appreciated! Looking at the pics, All I see are bits I want to improve - the camera picks up allllllll the detail it seems - even the brushmarks and paint texture... I've recently got myself a pretty decent airbrush and compressor - so I need to get my head around using that for weathering and body paint. Watch this space! As for the wheels - they are from here: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/home/alloy-wheels-digitalsurface Thanks again guys! M
  5. Ooooh Tim! I'd say go for it! I'm so glad I did - its a game changer for modelling and diorama-making! I've been putting it off for years - but I got one about the time I got back into modelling and I can honestly say I'll never look back! I was worried about having to set up and learn the intricacies of a new device (I hate messing around with printers/laptops and Wifi!) but within a half-hour of unboxing, I was printing my first print! There's no need to learn any in-depth software, you can find lots of stuff on Cults and Thingiverse. And once you've got the files, you can print as many as you need! I use water-washable resin, so there's no messy cleanup, and I've not really had to learn anything specialist in order to get decent prints... Well worth it in my opinion! Happy to chat more about it if you'd like, drop me a PM!
  6. Thanks mrm! I don't mind sharing at all! The engine was from here: https://cults3d.com/:542306. The same designer does a version of the flathead with Ardun heads and a blower too... Worth checking them out if you're into this sort of thing.
  7. Thanks Zippi! The hose clamps are just some chrome-tape stolen from my wife’s nail art box. I think you could find it on Amazon if you searched for something like ‘nail art tape’. It’s probably not to scale, about 1.5mm wide… but it sells the idea to me when I’m looking at it!
  8. Hi all, This was the first 'glue-bomb I picked up after a long hiatus... I printed a flathead engine on my resin printer, pulled the kit apart and started again. I believe this started as a revell/monogram 32' with torq thrusts, disc brakes and a late-ish ford engine. Its a mix of 3d printed parts (engine/intake, wheels and tyres), kit parts (chassis, body, suspension), and parts salvaged from other kits (steering wheel is from a pink 59' caddy). Still some little details to sort, and I know the radiator top hoses are waaay out of scale - but I quite like the hose clamp detail, so I might leave these. As always with these things, there are things I like, and things I don't. But I guess that's what keeps us going, eh?!
  9. I was bought this kit as a birthday present... Not usually my kinda thing, but I thought it would be good practice... My god that centre-console between the seats was a pain to paint! And I noticed the chassis was twisted way too late in the build to fix it - so I've decided to forcibly mount it to some sort of diorama base. I was also really pleased with the engine bay detailing, so I've decided to depict a sort of 'broken-down at the side of the road' scene... Anyway, here's some pics:
  10. Hi all - first time posting a proper project on here - so go easy on me! Lots to learn! This was a 3d printed kit from Digital Surface: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/tool/ford-34-chopped-roof-scale-1-24
  11. Hi all, I'm another one returning to this hobby after a long hiatus, and having recently discovered resin 3d printing, I've found it to be a game-changer! Its taking a while to get back into the swing of things with regards to achieving the level of detail and cleanliness I want to achieve - but every model has at least one element that's better than the last. I'm a long-term fan of Hot Rods and Kustoms, and find myself leaning towards those types of build. After lurking on here for a couple of months, there's so much to learn here! So much inspiration! Looking forward to absorbing as much as I can! Here's a couple of recent builds... Matt
