  1. Thought about buying the Chevelle kit. I just finished building the 65 Nova Funny Car kit.  Worst kit I've ever built, very crude. I had to force myself to finish building it. The Chevelle looks pretty much the same as the Nova except it has better glass, tail lights and tires (rubber vs plastic). Think I'll pass.

  2. I'll be watching your build. I just recently started building the same kit. I needed to find a kit to get me out of a building slump. It needs a lot of mold lines cleaned up. I plan on adding a little bit of extra details since the model is pretty simple. I have seen other peoples builds of this kit on this forum. Looks like it can be made to look pretty nice.

  3. Shaun, I would give Chris another chance. He's a good guy to deal with. I have bought quite a bit of $$$ worth of models, paints and accessories from Chris. His prices and shipping are what I consider reasonable (especially free shipping for orders over $50) He's even gone out and found items I've asked for (messaged him and he replies pretty quickly) and added them to his webpage. I've always received my stuff pretty quickly (a few days). The only issue I have had was with USPS distribution center in Kentucky, my tracking # has disappeared twice at their facility. One time for 2 weeks time another for almost 5 weeks.(not Chris' fault). I will continue to buy from Chris in the future.

Another consideration would be Tamiya TS-93 Pure Blue. This color is slightly lighter than the TS-15 Blue and is also a non- metallic color. Depending on how stock you are trying to be remember that like many manufacturers the color can be slightly different from one year to the next and even from one plant to another.

Thanks David. Like I just stated in the post to Mike, I'm doing a 428 for a modified and just wanted to get close.

    Pipe tap:
    - You weaponize the pressure in the can
    - You must empty all contents of the can at once

Chuck, there is a safe way to use a pipe tap to decant/empty an aerosol can. I invert the can and release all the propellant until it won't spray. Then I use hose clamps to secure the tap to the can and empty through a tube into a plastic or glass jar. There is one thing you shouldn't do (ask me how I know), the expelled paint still holds propellant. So don't shake the container, it will go everywhere just like a soda can. Crack the lid on the container and let it gas off for a day or two. It's still better to stir it instead of shaking it.
