  1. Well I took the full can back to Wal-Mart and they exchanged it without question.. Yates
  2. That's what I was thinking.Maybe a white primer and a silver or gold coat first. Thanks, Yates
  3. I need to know what the best base coat or under coat is for the colors Pearl Green,Emerald Green and Metallic Green?I want the green to really pop out after the last coat has been applied and polished.. Thanks, Yates
  4. Yes I broke it and have no intensions of trying to get the store to pay for my goof.I would be happy if there was a safe way to drain the paint into a jar even though the can is still under pressure? That way I could use it for my airbrush?.. Yates
  5. I have a brand new can of Plastikote white primer.I have had it for quite some time.I went to take off the cap and somehow I hit the nozzle and sheared it off. :x I did try to dig out the broken tube part from the top of the can but only made matters worse. Now I can't even put a spare nozzle into it to use. What do I do?Could an auto paint store empty the can into a new one or should I sent it back to Plastikote?Unfortunately I can't find the receipt. Yates
  6. I love the FORDS.I'm a big Holman/Moody fan.Saw some of their cars in there.. Thanks. Yates
  7. That's not a racer that I would usually purchase for mysefl, BUT!.That's one cool looking race car, and 1/20th scale!.Nice find Yates
  8. Nice looking model and a handsome fellow too.I know you are very proud. My little 3yr old girl built her first snap kit back around the holidays. It's a red VW.I had to do some prep on it and glue some of the small pieces so her little brother couldn't break them off and swallow. You know small pieces and toddlers don't mix!.. 9. Thanks Andy..I have been looking at all the supplies in Micrmark for casting.Looks like they may have what I need..
  10. This being a model cars forum, I hope you all don't mind me asking this. I want to create my own figure sculpture and cast it.I need to know what the best clay to use so it doesn't dry out while I'm working day to day. Next, tips and material use for casting a mold and then tips on casting the figure in resin or vinyl, neither of which I have ever done. With all the talent and knowledge here, I believe I can get some good info and tips. Thanks, RowdyYates
  11. Dirk, Haven't seen or heard anything about Steve since he sold the store and left for the north country..Don't know why he did that?. The fellow who bought Flashbacks lives about 15 minutes from me and operates the store out of his garage..You can only see him on some Saturdays and maybe an evening if he's home..That's been going on over three years now..He was hoping to get a real store in town but it don't look like that will happen..All he does now is set up at local car shows and the Auto Fair twice a year selling kits.. Rowdy
  12. The same Dirk that lived in Charlotte and displayed your models at Flashbacks?.Never got to meet you but I you sure did enjoy checking out your builds when I was in shopping around. RowdyYates
  13. I have only read a few articles about him and his builds.Do you have any plans to feature him,his builds and techniques in the future?.I have to say he is one of my favorites.Such clean and detailed work.I would love to know how he details his engine bays to look so real. And where does he get all the interesting kits?!.It seems as though there is no model make and year that he can't build a model of. 14. Thanks for the heads up on the ThunderBird kits Glenn. We are always in Wally World.. RowdyYates
  15. I would love to have that roof, but I guess I'm way too late.. Thanks for the info! Rowdy
  16. That car makes for cool board hauler!..Lets go surfin' now!.. Rowdy
  17. Jairus,Thank you for the pics and good info.Fortunately I have about three of those ThunderBolt Kits.I'll start looking around for some good resourse books for the interior. Thanks again! RowdyYates
  18. I would be happy with either one or even the AMT '61 Ford Galaxie Styline kit. I do have the 4dr resin kit from Model Round Up used to make the Mayberry Police car, but it's just too rough and sloppy.Door gaps to wide, door handles droopy.I could clean it up with some patient work and time but I'd rather put that into my own scratch build version. Yates
  19. Does anyone know how I can convert a basic AMT 63-64 Galaxie 2dr into a 4dr?.How different are the roof lines? Can I use two 2dr kits to make a 4dr? Want that 4dr family car look. Thanks, RowdyYates
