Now, that explains things. I think I saw a bunch of those tires in the loose tires box that came with the kits. I'll print the pictures and compare them to the ones I think they are. If not I'll definately take you up on your offer for the tires. I'll let you know Tuesday morning Thanks!!!

Hello all
I picked up this AMT Jaguar XJ 220 kit #8608
and didnt notice that the tires were missing. What brand and size tires came with this kit? The directions are not really showing any detail on the sidewalls. Anyone have a clue Thanks a bunch

Wow cant believe what I'm seeing. I have been hopeing someone would do a 67 conversion to the 66 kit. I used to have a 67 GS ans a 66 skylark. The interiors were interchangable for both years. I would just use the interior tub from the Model House or? So, it wont be 100% correct but then again YA got a 67 Buick GS when your done. My big wish by the Model companys has been for them to issue a 67 GS From what I see on the forums it would sell

Hello all
Does anyone here produce or know of anyone who will produce a set of decals for you if you provide them the image? If anyone here can I'll be glad to pay you for your talents. It will just be a name for the doors on a project for a upcoming model contest theme at the fall St Joeseph, Missouri contest and swap meet.

Wait a minute. I've gotten myself confused. I just found a MPC 1932 Chevy Roadster kit for sale. It shows a roadster with a fold down top. At least that is what MPC calls. I've been looking at a few old chevy diecast available also. Correct if I'm wrong but didnt the Cabriolets have full doors/window frames? with a material top?
Randy

Except that MPC didn't make a '32 Chevy Roadster (only kits of that car have been the Hubley metal 1:20 scale, and a Pyro/Lifelike/Lindberg plastic kit in 32nd scale), but rather the much less desireable cabriolet (with rollup windows). Trouble prolly was that when MPC started on that project in 1964-65, '32 Chevy roadsters were almost non-existent--most Chevy clubs acknowledge that today only 7 originals are known to exist, due to their wooden body structures.
As for the panel delivery, even that one is not a Fisher body--rather it was modeled off one done by a custom aftermarket commercial body manufacturer, and yes, it was retooled into the body for Barnabas' van.
Biscuitbuilder
You are right. It was a Cabriolet body style. I'd still buy a bunch of them. I had roadster on my mind from looking at a resin chevy raodster kit. I think it represents a 1928 or 1932 roadster. It is copied after a real roadster drag car from the sixties.

Hello all
I got to thinking last night what old MPC model kits I would love to see in my local hobby haunts again is the 32/33 Chevrolet Roadster and Sedan Delivery. I would think these would sell really well for the "new" AMT. What do you guys think? I'm actually hopeing they possibly tool up a new kit of any 28 to 36 GM or Chrysler Roadster/Coupe. I think the fords are covered pretty well So come on AMT and Revell give us GM & Mopar guys something to rat rod. I can see a fenderless 34/35 Chevy coupe with a Buick Nailhead, white walls and some good old Roth stype metal flake paint

Thats the way I like my ladies! I sure was hoping she would grab him and beat the *$@!~^%! out of that guy in front of the whole country! Yup, that security guy was a brave man!

Come on guys if it was a guy, hed be the biggest jerk around. kind of how people feel about the Bush brothers in Nascar. Danica needs to grow into the "racecar" driver she thinks she is. Everytime something bad happens she throws a tizzy as do some of the guys also. Grow up, accept accidents in the sport. God forbid anyone makes a mistake in Danicas world. Boy, I long for the days of Dale SR. I raced for years and you know what "%#@* happens" I guess I'm saying is if she really buckled down and stayed away from the freak nonsence and soap operas Nascar and some other motor sports have become maybe more good would come to her. We raced for years on dirt and just accepted others mistakes. I'm sure I made more than my share of bonehead mistakes in racing

Mill City Replicas was the maker of the '70 GS ragtop body, in fact, it was his last product before he went belly-up. It was also his nicest, IMO.
I missed the chance to get one for myself when he was still in business. Hopefully some enterprising resin caster can resurrect it.
Larry
Thanks for the info! It was an old magazine so I figuered he was no longer produceing this. Thanks for all the great articles

Hello everyone
A while ago I was looking through a old Model Cars magazine and saw that a resin caster that I believe was Mill City Resin or something close to that produced a convertible body for the 70 Buick GS Revell kit. I'm thinking hes not in business anymore. Does anyone know if they are still around under another name? Maybe someone else might be offering it? Better yet, does someone have one they never used? Thank you for any answers

I just got back from Steve Kohler's house to check it out. The magazine looks great! I hope i can pick up a copy tomorrow someplace. My coverage was 4 pages, woohoo! thanks so much Gregg for bringing me aboard! I look forward to more this year! Even though my name was forgotten on the coverage, i did see my name in the contributors list , which is really cool
Anthony i saw your article, but didn't get a chance to really look it over. I will obtain a copy though , without fail!
Bob
Havent seen it yet but I was told two of my models are featured in the feature on last years St. Joeseph, Missouri Model swap meet and contest. My 66 olds Gasser and that Halloween Diarama made it. Cant remember if you took the photos though.

Hello everyone
A friend and I scored some original issue Trophy series AMT kits last night !! Some are dare I say built rough, some started and some unmolested. I ended up with the Buick Station Wagon, 36 Ford coupe(built decently with chopped top) and the 40 Ford Sedan ( early try at collision and weathering methods- yep its really butchered but all the unused custom/option build parts are there for the Fords! That was nice . Heres my actual question: Does anyone replicate the original decal sheets to the fords? The sheets are partially there or used. They are so much cooler than the junk we get nowdays.

You're very welcome & I can understand getting the two mixed up due to their being the same year & with all the extra parts in them.
I plan to scan the instructions & box art from my original 57 Chevy kit & send the scans to Bob for the site soon, so they can be referenced as well.
Wouldn't it be great if the people running AMT/MPC/PL now could restore all of that great tooling to those two kits?
Lets keep are fingers crossed

I do love the Stones, but I'm an even bigger Buddy Guy fan. That's who's jamming on guitar with them in my avatar.
You're in Omaha? That's cool, as I'm in Shenandoah Iowa, about an hour from there & do all my hobby shopping in Omaha. In fact I was at the Omaha contest/swapmeet last month.
Do you hang around such "disreputable" people as Bob Black?
Or go by Tony's Toys & Collectibles at Crossroads Mall? Tony's a good guy too, (like Bob is), & is who my wonderful wife got the original issue 57 Chevy & Ford kits from for me last Christmas, that I mentioned in my prior post.
Yes I do know Bob Black and Tony and Scott from Tonys. Disreptuble as they get!! Just kidding:) They are all great guys.
. I helped vend at the Omaha show. Had a few models in the contest also

Thanks Everyone my questions are answered. It was just something running around my head. I'm building a 1973 version of the "Pepper Shaker" right now and just love the custom parts in the kit. Bluesman Mark: gotta ove the stones saw them here in Omaha a couple of years ago. Still the best

are you talking about the origional 60s parts like he fender skirts custom front end and rear end parts like in the 50 ford? Well if you are no after the peper shaker or even for the peper shacker they took them out. All the parts that are still in the kit today are the origional parts though. For the custom rear and front treatments i have a website save somewere were they sell them both new in resin and the parts for the 57 ford to. Let me try and find it.
I think your talking about some of the" Stylene" parts. You could build it (1)stock,(2) hotrod/race or (3)customize it. The fourth option was the stylene parts which included the parts you mentioned. There was even a chopped roof.I havent bought any new releases in a long time so I wasnt sure the 3 options were in there.
